GBAtemp Skin Contest Voting

Well, as I stated before, the banner and the whole site was really meant to be cheerful and colorful. It's because I thought that GBAtemp could use some more color as an alternative (for those who want the color - for the others, there's still the power of CHOICE).

As for the banner - the banner is meant to display something:
The early Game Boy was is the green part of the the image - it represents the early stages of it all - the green branches of the tree that just started to bloom. The Game Boy Advance was meant to be as a new sun rising, bringing color, much cooler graphics and overall improvement. The red of the SP is to show that it stirred the things up by bringing a backlit screen and rechargable battery (and, of course, changing the idea of the overall design) into the game. The last one is the DS that's standing in front of a blue flare/flame, lighting a new path that's not really discovered yet (and for a long time won't be) to it's fullest.

The design was in the making for about two weeks, mainly because I wanted it to look finished and the people to see how much work was really put into it. I didn't want it just to look cool or something, I wanted it also to tell a story (the history of the GB/GBA/DS) and to use the 4 main colors so that really anyone can choose the color he likes most (hence, there can be 4 skins made out of this one design - for each of the colors).

I know that content is king (maddox proves it as much as he can

), but why not show it in a better light for those who want so?

You should save that post. That brought some more insight to your design and I found it rather impressive. Nice work.

Okay it's pretty late but I got around to changing the logo for my design; to view it either click the first link next to my name at the top of the poll, or just click here. I left the old logo in the second image for comparison purposes. Hope you like the new logo; it's not fantastic but it's miles better than my old one.

On a side note thanks for everyone who is voting for me!

p.s bojzi - I'm not too sure the whole colour scheme really works for me but your philosophy behind the choice of colours is pretty interesting.

IMHO even if there's only one winner (X-ROM), I think there should be 2 winners Bojzi & Darforce.(Sry I can't tell to whom my vote went to but I advice those of you who haven't to vote for both of them alternatively

Why 1 alternatve skin when we can have 2 ??

When it's possible not to choose then don't : take both

I personaly cant make up my mind, but i wanted to say something about the story the logo told (bojzi). U started right away with GBA and I think u should have had at leatst CGB. I feel that was a step towards the GBA as it was first with colour. But GBA just improved and took the horizontal approach. Maybe CGB should be in there? Otherewise, I think most of these skins are great.

My idea was to show how much the site is live and to tell a little story through the design and pay a little hommage to the very roots of this way of gaming...
