Hacking Guessing vWii hack applied

Hi there!

I have a second hand Wii U. The vWii was hacked by previous owner, but i don't know how. The homebrew channel works and also the backup loading of Wii games from USB drives.

I would like to know how it was hacked.

How can I tell how it was hacked?

No real way to find out, but they all lead to the same end result: HBC installed, along with d2x cIOS and one of the available USB loaders (USB loader GX, CFG loader or WiiFlow)
You might want to run sysCheck: https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/
That will tell you exactly what you have installed (besides installed channels and anything in HBC)

I have HBC and USB loader GX and WiiFlow installed and working well. Not sure about d2x cIOS. There is some d2x lines in sysCheck.csv result. Not sure what they mean or if they are all correct.

Is it possible to guess the method used to hack vWii that was used?

There is no "guessing" which method was used, it doesn't matter, the end result is always the same. The HackMii Installer is run either through wuphax or a game exploit, rest is the same. d2x-cIOS is installed correctly. You are missing IOS236 though, check the vWii Hacking Guide thread linked above by SuperDan.

Thank you, Brawl345. I didn't know I was missing IOS236. According to the guide it seems that IOS236 is a requisite to make easier the cIOS installation (249,250,251) but these are already installed.
should I Install IOS236 afterwards. is it safe?

Yes. It's for homebrews which can not use HW_AHBPROT for accessing the NAND.
