Have you ever gotten a detention in school?

I only gotten two detentions in elementary school, one in middle school, zero in high school

I got a bunch in my last couple years of school, but I only ever went to one of them and all we did was sit there for 45minutes twiddling our thumbs. Once was enough for me. The exit door was right next to the door to detention. Which one do you think I went for after that first time?

I was quite the rebel my last couple of years in school.

What did I get detention for? Well, that was 20+ years ago.....I don't really remember all the reasons anymore. I know there was a few times for not having my gym shorts (all the teacher ever did was throw out a few basketballs to the kids and then he went in his office and sat on his fat ass. PFFT!)......a time or two where I had to beat some dude up for messing with me......a few times for munching food in class, but that's all I really remember.

Only time was in 6th 7th or 8th grade
In 6th and 7th, they were trying a new system where you stayed after school for 20 minutes doing homework
Then in 8th grade they went back to 20 minutes of lines.

I got a few, nothing major.

Ive only have gotten detention once. It was so stupid too. It was a formal dress day (shirt and tie). We also have to wear dress shoes or all black sneakers. I wear my Jordans which are all black except the soul is clear. After the mass towards the end of the day my d-bag teacher gives me a referral to the dean. I had to sit in the cafeteria for 45 minutes doing a stupid worksheet on basketball (I like basketball by the way). I'm lucky I didn't get one a month earlier. I was late to school because my friends I was driving with wanted to smoke some weed. The dean let me off because it was the first time in the quarter.

ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!! I have a crap load of detentions and I'm only in 8th. 6th grade was all tardies and I think one or two for fighting. Those asses in the office waited until I had about 30 detentions to tell me every time I was late I get a detention. I was really pissed off that day. In 7th I got only a few tardies and one for throwing food in the cafeteria (I was having a little food fight with my friend) and another one for playing games on the school's comp when I should have bin working. What really got me mad was that they started doing something that's called "5 tardie-n- detention" which was basicly if you come in late 5 time you get a detention. I went down to the office to demand my detentions divided by 5 but they wouldn't do it.

yes. many, many times for several things including but not limited to : breaking the lid off a pressurized can of butane and lighting it on fire, fighting, fireworks at school, looking up porn on school computers, using firefox portable on school computers, lighting a sparkler bomb in toilet block, etc.

1 Week Suspension - Bloodying a guys nose (he deserved it. I didn't even know him and he singled me out for some reason)
1 Week Suspension - Can't say, but would be a huge media event these days
1 Week Suspension - fighting (He spit on me, I kicked him in the jaw.)
Detention - urinating in someones hair spray (Hey, I knew their locker combo)
Detention - Not reporting to the Dean's office after a little dust up in gym class.

This was some time ago when you could still get away with stuff. Now if you even look at someone cross eyed, the system will skewer you so behave.

But despite some trouble, I turned out fine.

Ditching is something ... like.. essential as a korean student

but I never skipped english class. But boring stuff like math, science, seminar and language arts..
