My father is retired Marine and my sister is currently in BMT at Air Force in San Antonio, so 1 week and half to left until graduation. We received calls from her that BMT went well but it was rough.

I will be traveling to San Antonio next week to watch her graduation and I'm wonder about climate in this area? Possibly hot with humid?

Nephew is a Sergeant Major in the army.
At least, last time I spoke to him that it.

Edit: only counting living relatives, Family members that served in WW2 are likely dead.

It's like walking into an oven that's inside of a tropical rainforest that's inside of another oven.

My great grandfather (by blood) was a military scientist during WWII, and my great grandfather (through marriage) fought in the Battle of Midway, also in WWII. My uncle served in the military in the 1990s to get USA citizenship and college paid for, but he never went overseas or fought.

Most of my Mom's side of my family have actually served in all branches of the military. I have relatives currently in every branch at this very moment and several who recently served.
I am not in the military and I can't join because nerve damage in my shoulder would make it impossible for me to be of any use.

Ouch. That sounds painful.

I got used to it and often forget that I am supposed to be in pain. Most of the time I just drop stuff that I am holding in my left hand or forget that I am holding something with my left hand.

Well, both of my granddads obviously served in the military, one was killed the other died when I was 10 or 11. I never learned much about their past in the military.

That being said, my father served in the military for 18 months (german army), as did I for 9 months (german air force). It was a mandatory service, though, no deployment etc.

My grampa always told me these amazing stories of missions he was on in WW2. I was so proud of everything he told me he had did. It was only a few years after he died I found out the truth. He only had one mission which lasted about 10 minutes as he parachuted out of a plane and got stuck up a tree and had to be rescued he was then sent back home injured and never played any other part in the war lol.

I've never heard it from my mom's side, although I'm sure somebody must have been there. And as for my dad's side, My dad was in for a while but everyone before my grandmother never lived in the US so I don't know about them.

Grandfather on my father's side served in the US Navy. Grandfather on my mother's side served as a guerilla fighter in the Philippines IIRC.

It's kinda weird to think that they could've been fighting at the same time, at the same location, without ever realizing it.

Same here, I’m Deaf and visually impaired (limited visual field) = automatic permanent disqualification (PDQ).

For others mentioned about violence, not necessary, you could opt to serve as non-combat if you prefer and treats like a job. Some people went to military due to lack of job in their areas.

Thank to y’all for contribute to my thread.

Just figured out, it would be humid and hot that is worse than Atlanta.

I do feel bad for troops who are immigrant to join the military to become US citizens, got discharged for no reason.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
