Hi, first of all im not that familiar with the xbox 360, as I just got one from a friend.

Basically he gave me a xbox 360 slim trinity and I want to update it so I can dvd flash it later. The problem is it fails to update (I tried updating with a usb stick and same result).
It fails with one or the other error: 4099 4476 1680 0700 C000 000E or 4099 0000 0080 0300 8007 000F

One thing is that the console didn't came with a hard drive. I dont know if it was taken off or it didnt come with it originally.

Thanks

Edit: it appears that I cant find the 4gb chip for the internal memory, so that means this xbox is a probably a 250gb with the hard drive taken out. Is there any way to update without a hdd?

you don't need the hdd to update the 360. the hdd contains kinect, media, avatar, and the xbox emulator on it.

edit: I wasn't sure if that sounded confusing, but the hdd stuff isn't needed. if you were able to update, you'd have to update again with an hdd to get that stuff back.

Are you kidding me

...

It didn't work because I had taken out the dvd drive to see what chip it had. I guess that solves that
