Tried the download link. It's all Jap to me. Not seeing how this gets me the latest version of a hi res DS emulator. Do I click on limb, coiled cat, or graptolite?

All the versions of desmume are available here:

I may update the OP with this link as opposed to just the home page of the author's site to minimize language barrier confusion.

I just discovered this version of DeSmuMe. Have you tried running this in Wine in a Linux box? I ask now because it's what I'm going to attempt when I get home.

Edit: Successfully runs in Wine on my Lubuntu 15.10 laptop. Although, it bombs when enabling any version of the high-res renderer. Oh well.
Mainline version of Desmume should have higher IR option now.

Forgive me if I missed something but how can I get one screen at fullscreen 1080p without borders? I always assign lcd swap to my controller so I don't need the second screen for games I currently play.

Nice! So this is the main branch and not the one discussed in this thread?

Yes, it is the main branch of DeSmuME. As far as I know/believe, x432 won't be supported or developled anymore.
I used this thread, because it is about Hi-Resolution DS Emulation. The xBRZ texture filtering together with High-Resolution in the main branch is amazing. :-)

However I hope they will add bicubic filtering in addition.
PPSSPP did that and the combination of xBRZ and bicubic is great.

I have no special setting.
But you should not use the magnification filters (!)
The screen filters do not work together with the high resolution and the texture scaling.
