OP
When emulating 3D games you can download HD texture packs.

By today's standards GBA games look stretched and pixelated as hell on a big screen. Emulators have filters which help fix this. AFAIK there is no such thing as a graphics pack you can download that increases the resolution of tilesets and makes the games look nice and detailed when displayed on a high resolution screen.

Well, do they exist?

Some people have fiddled with tile replacements but it is a lot more work than 3d so not many do; swinging a sword in 3d is some coordinates for the game to run through and is unchanged when you staple on a fancy texture and maybe press subsurf or employ some other fancy 3d modification you can do), swinging a sword in 2d might involve upwards of 20 different tiles needing to be painstakingly redrawn, and that is just a sword swing (not moving, a staff, a bow, a dagger, an axe, sleeping, eating....). The closest you will get for the GBA is some of the things the hard of sight people use to export various images and whatever to specialised readers, and they were not terribly far advanced last time I checked in on things as most were more concerned with outputting text to a normal text program. Some of the limited systems with far fewer options for the hardware have something. Generally though it is filters or get a lower res screen if it bothers you, if they are stretched it is because you set the wrong settings, or maybe you need to sort the pixel aspect ratio.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
