How to DSiWare for SD Card Manual Install

find an option to save the DSiWare game directly to the SD card from the DSi Shop.

Also, as dot_hack_freak mentioned above, from the "System Settings" > "Data Management" section you can copy downloaded games to and from the SD card. However, it does appear to work as expected:

I copied "AQUIA" to the SD card, and deleted it from the system memory (NOTE: Unlike on the Wii, a "Move" option is not present). After doing so, "AQUIA" does not show up in the main menu - even after a re-boot. I copied "AQUIA" back to the internal system memory, and the game is now back in the main menu.

Conclusion:
SD card support in the current DSi firmware (v1.3U) or (v1.3J) does not appear to be as fully implemented as it now is on the Wii.

[EDIT]
I took a few pictures and copied "AQUIA" back over to the SD card slot. I did not see any way to get audio recordings onto the SD card.

The directory structure on the SD card is as follows:

root/DCIM/100NIN02/
- Image files are stored here.
- Naming scheme: HNI_000#.JPG

root/private/ds/app/[random_8-digit_hexidecimal_number]/
- Purpose unknown
- One file contained:
pit.bin - 47 kb

root/private/ds/app/title/
- Purpose unknown
- Two files contained:
[random_8-digit_hexidecimal_number].bin - 11,580 kb
HNB_.lst - 2 kb

They're saved in .bin format on the SD card in
\private\ds\title, along with a single .lst file.

They're named along the lines of 4B4D394A.bin, 4B4D464A.bin etc. up to 484E474A.bin. The .lst file is HNB_.lst.

There's also a \private\ds\app folder, which contains a folder \484E494A, which contains pit.bin. Possibly browser settings?
It hasn't been modified in a few days, so nothing to do with DSiWare.

Also, when copying the browser and Moving Notebook over to the SD card, you get a warning that not all data may be transferable. No explanation given on this one.

maybe we can, maybe we can't. If my theory is correct, those numbers and leters are a Hashcode. If the dsiware games are locked for the dsi where you downloaded the game, these hashcode is determined between the one of the game and the DSi one.

So we can't download pirated DSiWare if it contains certain code that was made by the DSiWare and the DSi it's going to?

Regards,
Chris

PS: I understand a bit but I dont know how you are going for this so I ask this question and I will fully understand it now.

Just like the Wii was meant to be before Nintendo f*cked up, the DSi digitally signs DSiware to prevent usage on DSi's other then the one that the software was downloaded onto initially.

Dont get excited before you even read properly.

I think there is a move function on the DSi, I believe you hold the stylus down on a channel for a second or two.

Also, this is interesting, but kinda useless until we can copy and install the channels installed on the DSi itself. (the equivalent of wads)

You are correct. After a couple of seconds, you can move the channel to any spot you wish. All channels can be moved this way including the system settings channel and the game channel.

Hey guys i know how to play dsiware roms on sd card look.

Go to settings on your DSi, Go then to (I Dont really know but i think it was) System Settings.
You only can do this if you downloaded something on dsiware.

Touch one of your games and then select copy.
Then he copy it to the sd card.

Put it in your computer, then you click private\ds\title.
then you will see a bin file and a lst file i tought.
you can download JP GaMES FROM: -snip-
Download the game like CHotto Brain training.

Now extract the b-cbtsv.zip/rar file
Put the Bin and the lst file in the title map.
Put you SD card in your DSi
Go to system settings and go to your sd card click on the game and click copy.

MUST WORK!!

P.S. If you download english or american from dsiware and you put it on your sd card will you please put it on the internet for download i also want such games.

This method also doesn't work if you put the DSiware directly on the SD card. Do you really think nobody thought to try this already? You can't seriously believe that you were the first to try this. The only way this method would SEEM to work is if someone used the files they originally got from their own DSi (move files from SD, delete files on SD, copy files back over), because each DSi game is digitally signed identifying the DSi that originally downloaded it.

You're in no position to be calling anyone stupid - if you'd read and understood the posts previous to the one you posted (which was filled with bold text and annoying smileys for no good reason, by the way), you would never have posted that useless info.

You're almost correct, but not quite.

It's like this; it's legal to own a DVD player, but it's illegal to play pirated movies on it. And you're also allowed to make DVDs of movies you filmed yourself (unless you're the pirate!

).

Similarly, while it is true that pirated roms of commercial games are illegal, the flashcards themselves are not.
Software made specifically for flashcards - homebrew software - is ok too.

Understand now?

Ooo I know but flashcards are also illigal because you only can put roms on it and the games roms are illigal because they are illigal copies of the real games a kind back-up

right

You can't play pirated DSiware games because each time you download a game, it is encrypted with a signature that makes it exclusive to that handheld, so even if your DSi fragged on you and your games aren't on your SD card, you are screwed and as far as I know, you can't do anything about that. Games cannot be loaded off an SD card at this time, in a later firmware update that will most likely be possible like the Wii, however that will be a while yet.
