Hello,

When scanning with WebMan, it will 50/50 show the file name and 50/50 show the param.sfo title. So, I'm trying to fix it manually. I have my plugin memory maxed and PARAM.SFO title checked.

1. I put mygames.xml into XML formatter.
2. Edit the name of a game and put it back in /xmlhost/game_plugin/
3. No change.
4. I run the Webman command "/reloadxmb.ps3". (This doesn't rescan games, just reloads XMB list)
5. No change.

Psn or iso?

How many games do you have? You may have to ask aldostools. I'm thinking it's something related to the plugin memory.
Only a few, it's probably because the titles are inside Param.SFO files which are inside .ISO files on an NTFS External Drive, so WebMan can't read them all and just scans about half.

Even so, I'm trying to bypass all that, to just edit the names in mygames.xml directly.

But how do you edit mygames.xml to show changes? It can't be plugin memory related, because if it's not reading them from mygames.xml, then where?

Found the solution and putting it here for others:

1. Changes to mygames.xml only apply if all of your games are inside the WebMan Games folder, it doesn't work directly in the XMB.

2. There is a way to scan games so they always show the SFO title on an external NTFS. Install prepISO from the WebMan release section. Then in WebMan setup under Scan for Content uncheck dev_ntfs which is standard for using prepISO, and keep it unchecked always, then click Save at the bottom. Then in WebMan setup under Memory, click delete "wmtmp". Now you need to uncheck under Scan For Content the entire "Playstation 3" checkbox. This is the trick that gets it to work, and click Save at the bottom. Now run prepISO and run it without keeping cache, and wait for it to come back from the black screen. Now under WebMan setup recheck the Playstation 3 checkbox under Scan for Content, and click Save at the bottom. Finally along the top on WebMan setup click "Refresh XML" then when it finishes click "Reload XMB". It will now scan 100% of your ISO's with the SFO title instead of the filename.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
