Hacking Question how to extract .nca out of .xci on macOS?

You could use a virtual machine. Or dual boot windows using boot camp.

Out of the two i suggest dualboot however. usually is faster than virtulization to do it's job.

hactool works fine on mac. Maybe not the gui frontend, but if you can handle the command line. You can compile hactool from the github source, or you can try this one I built tonight (built on Sierra, possible it might not run on older os).

Here's the command someone posted to extract the .nca files from the .xci:

hactool -k keys.ini -txci --securedir="NCA_DIR" "GAME.xci"

but I'll leave it to you to find/make the keys.ini

Yeah there isn't an existing file called config.mk - so make a copy of config.mk.template and rename it to config.mk
