I know it's through no fault of your own, but some... questionable content might've slipped through the cracks.

Will post more information if an advert like this pops up again.

On a serious note, last I checked, these are google based targeted ads. Of course they can also be effected basted on search results on your IP address and other factors. It could be possible that results like searching for "anime," will get tagged and all ads based on the tag "anime," will then be targeted at you. Which means, even if you aren't searching for say "hentai," you are still likely to get targeted ads based off your anime searches.

I have Ad-Block plus, for removing Ad's entirely (On Google Chrome Web Store, or Firefox). It's handy for things like YouTube, or Inappropriate ad's.
Last I checked, ABP doesn't block ads it deems "unintrusive", such as text only ads. uBlock or anything else really would be better if you wanted to get rid of any and all ads.

It really blocks all or most ad's, but works fine for my use.

There is an option to disable all adds, even "unintrusive" ones. I use ABP with that feature everywhere except here at GBATemp.

EDIT: OP, you use the light theme? Disgusting!

Once again, Targeted Ads are disabled on my Google account, so even if I did search for slutty secretary hentai (which I don't - it's not really my jammies), it would have no bearing on my ads, which normally tend to be random, as expected. Not sure what ad agent the site is using, but the recommended course of action was always to report this sort of thing to the admins (which is what I've done) as pornography shouldn't be in the pool of ads in the first place. You don't get ads about naughty nurses on Tom's Hardware, they shouldn't be here either. GBATemp does have a degree of influence over what's displayed and can apply relevant filters. As for Ad blockers, I don't generally use them on the Temp, for obvious reasons.

Unless the site administrators just thought they'd slip one in...just to see the reactions of unsuspecting members!

(Only joking, everyone.)

This is what happens when I am part of the forums. My lewdness spreads and everything gets lewd with it.
You even affected my facebook feed and suggested pages. My GF now stares at me with a weird face when she sees my timeline.

I swear I wasn't searching for hentai but it still shows up!

dad...
The thing that comes to mind when I read this is a very vivid "YES DADDY!"
Anyway, OP, I wouldn't be complaining about that kind of ad. Who knows if you'll be so lucky as to see another? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

(Nobody wanted to alert me that I misspelled a word in my other post, eh? I see how it is.)

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two.
