I didn't really put in account budget/battery consumption when doing this list, only maximum quality things regardless of the price. If I did, microSD would go down to max of 128GB and I'd remove SuperCard DSTwo+.

Do you really need 256GB? Because the bigger your SD is, the longer it takes for your 3DS to boot. And it's like 8 seconds for a 64GB, 12 for a 128, so I don't know what it would be for a 256 but it would probably be annoying.

I wouldnt mind the boot time as my 3ds is usually always on so the bigger size wouldnt matter to me. Besides that any disadvantages to having a higher sd card?

I read some horror stories about some programs not supporting too much empty space on the SD card (obviously only possible with big SD cards) but at least I never had any issue with my 128GB card (except boot times).

Like I said, I only put in account the maximum quality something could reach, not the downsides of it (Reason why SuperCard DSTwo+'s in this list). Currently, the max storage for a microSD's 256GB, excluding the downside that's the boot time for it.
