Saw him in 1987 at the Merriweather Post Pavillion. With Little Feat. Super fun concert.

I think "Parrothead" is well outside the vocabulary of 99% of this site's members though.

When I went to that show in '87 (might've been '88?), it was a friend from highschool who called me up out of the blue to ask if I wanted to go, so all I knew in advance is that it was a Jimmy Buffett concert. Buffett and his band came out and did maybe 2 songs, then he announced he had some friends who had reunited and wanted to play. I'm not even sure if Little Feat was on the bill. Crowd went crazy. Little Feat had broken up in 79 so nobody thought they'd get another chance to see them. Little Feat played their set, Jimmy Buffett Band played 2 sets, then both bands played an encore together. Outdoor amphitheatre show in June.

Not the most impressive concert I ever saw as far as the music was concerned (that would be Zappa, by a long shot), but it sure was fun. There was fungus mung us, if ya know what I'm sayin.
