That felt pretty good, getting rid of the crap ds games that I've downloaded for no reason, don't play anymore because I beat them, or just don't like at all. Zips were only about 4.4GB, and I didn't bother counting how many, but I ended up with 38 games left that I either own (8) or really want to finish. Here's my list, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep Mortal Kombat (didn't even remember it was there, so I have to try it out.. would rather have street fighter) and the Phoenix Wright games x4. I played the first one, never cared about the others, but figured I'd give it another shot because they're fun.

I'm also about to toss all but maybe three my Wii discs, but that feels so much more wasteful. What can I do with ~40 garbage dvds?

Why? Cleaning house I guess. I want to focus on the games that I actually want to play through, instead of wasting so much time just scrolling the list and deciding what to play. Also a little guilt.

I don't like people who pirate stuff for the bigger number. Such as people who have iTunes collections of like 80GB of music.

Although in the end we are all thieves, doesn't matter how much we download, in the end we are breaking the law.

Err, sorry everyone, I should have just PMed those two directly because what I really wanted was their opinion. I give a damn, that who, and I felt like writing about it. Sooo, gtfo is what I'm saying I guess.

I've never had that happen. Because every computer I've ever used has had a really limited drive, I download it, install/burn/put on flash cart whatever it is, then delete the original file. I'd love to have a storage of absolutely everything I've ever downloaded but that won't happen.

I used to be such a person.

; Though admittedly, I was (and partially still am) so anal about albums being complete even if I only like one entire song that it got that bad. And, when you're a part of a DC++ community...

I'm down to under 4200 songs though. Certainly better than howevermany 60+GB took up. =P

I have a lot of space (80gb drive for file system and /home, 250gb drive for movies, music, games and mythtv recordings), so I'm used to just keeping everything. But I'm kind of tired of the 'collecting pirate' mentality, where I don't even care if I play the game, I just have fun waiting for it to be released, hunting it down, downloading and playing for 5 seconds because I never wanted to game to begin with. It's become too easy to pirate, and I think I'm just loosing interest in the whole process.

Oh, added two games (Civ Rev and Tsumiki) because somehow they were on my DS, but not on my computer.

I think my laptop may have been involved somehow in that process.

I don't get people making digital data collections, but that's just me ...

Apart from my music, which I listen to on a daily basis, I keep almost nothing on my drive. Frankly, if I want to watch a movie, I can download it in an hour. If I want a certain ROM, it can be downloaded in less than a minute. Why bother?

You can steal 9,1GB worth of roms.
But are never going finish them all.
Get a job if you have that much free time on your hands.

You wouldn't have to bother with downloading if you had the movie or the rom in the first place.

Seriously, having lived in a time when access to stuff like music, movies and games was actually limited I can understand people amassing as much data as they can. I guess it's like my Grandparents who were hoarding canned foods and stuff for bad times.

And these bad times may actually come sooner than you think...

Hmm....just on my C: drive alone, I have 77.8 gig of emulation.

That doesn't even count things like zipped DS and GBA games.....

But, we have around 8 terabytes of storage here across 7 PC's and lots of external storage, so that's a relative drop in the bucket.

Most of the space is ate up by recorded TV shows. Lot's of sci-fi stuff.

Wish they would let us play the NCAA football 14 on newer xbox, its one of the only games I love and own on disc still, that is not back compatible, bs.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
