I'm not exactly sure what factors contribute to it. I think it has to do with speed since I noticed the faster I finished a level, the better star ranking I got.

oh i got a gold star in one stage and the star blinks for the rest of the stages guess ill try rushing without using the warp door. gotta wait(little sister uning my DSTT clone(yeah i dont like it but i still use it since its all i have))

I think stars are gotten from how well you play the level. From what I understand, you might be able to get a star for playing the level fast or not getting any Kirbys hit.

To clarify, what star gets awarded at the end of the level is based solely on damage Kirby's take.

Also, if you use the warp slingshot, you don't get any star, regardless of how many hits you take.



Gold star requires zero hits. Not sure on exact silver and gold requirements. And these same rules apply on boss fights.





Now then, does anybody with more knowledge on the japanese language happen to know what the Squeak Squad does on that airship, and what the challenges do?

When I first saw this game it quickly reminded me of Pikmin. Did anyone else get that impression?

why the hell NDS and not 3DS

Because this has probably been in development before the 3DS was released.

Like all other DS games coming out.

That and there's really no need for it to be on the 3DS.

All right, so I just finished the game. I've got all 186 medals and I've got a gold star on every stage and every boss. Despite that, I'm still missing the final reward in the medal list. It says 186 medals, but I've got to assume I also need to complete the 35 challenges to unlock it.

Problem is, I can't read a bit of japanese. Here's the japanese for all 35 challenges, the ones with medals are the ones I've managed to do through the game, but figured a full list would be better. Sorry about the poor quality, all I had was my phone. Really appreciate if someone were able to translate these.

I'm not sure how useful translating the challenge list from the game will be since some of the names are not at all descriptive. The link I'm translating it from has what looks like the requirements for them, though running it through google translate was iffy.

Hm.... Sadly that list ultimately confuses me. I'm missing the medals for some of the 10 person clears, and I've beaten every level with 10 Kirby's.

Though I suppose much of what I'm missing may be from the levels that happened prior to me unlocking the challenges, so I'll go back and replay some of the early levels. No clue what some of these mean though...

Tag Master? Panel Sniper? To the goal at any time? Perfect goal? Bah...

Thanks for the info though, some of it is definitely makes sense.

You shouldn't need anything more than 186 medals to unlock the final reward. I collected them all and was immediately rewarded with it, and I haven't done every single challenge yet. Perhaps there is a layer of AP that your card's firmware missed?

Boss Rush Mode

I was disappointed, because almost every single Kirby game out there rewards you with awesomeness if you put in the time. Something like a secret boss, usually. All this gives you is a lousy Boss Rush mini game. Even the music is lackluster compared to other Kirby games, with the exception of a select few songs, most notable being World 4's boss theme. Even as awesome as that song is, it still doesn't come close to comparing with Kirby 64's Zero-Two theme or Galacta Knight's theme from Kirby Super Star Ultra.

That being said, the game is still extremely fun, and the gameplay, which is ultimately the reason I play video games, is fantastic.

Haha, this game is great, I love the system. The mini-game RPG-based is cool too. Almost as good as Superstar.

Turns out Porkmaster was right, that last reward was unlocked with 186 medals, I just had to go to some world that wasn't the final one to get it >.>

Has anyone actually finished all the challenges yet? I've still got a good 10 or so to do and am curious as to if there's a reward or not.

I believe the correct answer is every rainbow medal.

Every level has 3 or 5 medals to find. 1 of them is always a rainbow color. Collect all of them and unlock world 5.
