So, is this not relevant for mac users at all right now? Or do you just have to do some extra housekeeping after using the script?

On linux file systems the archive flag doesn't exist, so is weird that you have an utility to change that property by default.

If someone else is having problems figuring out how to set the archive bit from linux:
You can use fatattr with "fatattr +a FILE" to set it in you SD card and it installs perfectly :)

Arch Linux/Antergos/Manjaro/etc: I installed it from the AUR
For Debian/Ubuntu: manpages-ubuntu-com/manpages/bionic/man1/fatattr-1-html (change '-' for '.', i can't post links)

I'm having this error spliting a 10gb NSP:

Code:
Starting part 00
Part 00 complete
Starting part 01
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "splitNSP.py", line 143, in <module>
    main()
File "splitNSP.py", line 140, in main
    splitCopy(filepath)
File "splitNSP.py", line 108, in splitCopy
    splitFile.write(nspFile.read(chunkSize))
PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied

I'm running the script on the D drive of my computer with Windows.

Yes, you need to copy the folder to your sd card.

However if you use the usb installation of tinfoil, then you don't need to split the nsp in the first place. Splitting is only necessary, when you try to copy a file with over 4 GB file size to an FAT32 formatted card.

Oh ok, someone posted that they were using usb on fat32 and it stopped at 4 gb. So I thought it needed to be splitted.

I could really use your help one more time. I thought I needed to split my nsps so I did all of them. Then you tell me it's not necessary for usb. Now I found out it doesn't work when they're split (cmd and tinfoil just freeze, I guess they can't load the folder) Im probably the only one to ask this but is there a way to rejoin split nsps? The whole reason I want to use usb is to avoid taking out my sd card over and over because I'm currently using tinfoil on my joycon and I want to do that as little as possible.

hmmm, the splitter convert the nsp file into 2 files
00
and
01
when i put them in the nsp folder, after opening tinfoil, it crashes and i had to exit from tinfoil, but the switch didn't crash.

edit: oh i see, i must put the folder that ends with .nsp instead.
What folder did you put where? I put the folder ending in ".nsp" with the 01-04 split files into my tinfoil\nsp folder but tinfoil doesnt seen anything. I'm still trying to figure out how to get this to work after the split.

Right-click folder > Properties > Advanced > check the 'Folder is ready for Archiving' box. Should work after that.

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
