I made a modification of FIX94's arm9select that turns the backlight on for default.bin if it's a cold boot (and if default_bl exists), but doesn't if it's an MCU reboot (meaning that you used something like Quick Reboot to reboot the 3DS, or exited a GBA game/DS game). That way you can still have the splash on the initial powerup, but the screen stays black and off like a stock boot after that, as long as you're using FIX94's arm9loaderhax fork as well. If anyone's interested in it, I can post it here.
I wish I didn't upgrade A9LH back then.

thats awesome! if you dont mind I would release a arm9select v1.1 for that :)
Careful, this breaks every cfw that's not AuReiNand on MCU reboot.
EDIT: nevermind, if it's just the backlight everything will be fine. However if cakes isn't set to autoboot it's going to be awkward.
About region free: you can't patch home menu from arm9. Need an arm11 thread to do it.

Everything that AuRei does is made on the arm9? (And I mean everything, including reboot patches and FIRMs protection)

Yes, aside from the code that turns the screen off to prevent the 3D bug.
And that's no good for this, you would need an arm11 thread which runs in the background AFTER firmlaunch. Two skilled reverse engineers I know (not sure if I can say who they are) failed at this as of today. I'm not a reverser :(

I'm currently testing something for someone, this is something he's currently working on:
I 'm coding a custom ARM11 process, which would patch home menu.

Hopefully he's able to achieve that.
(Keeping that person anonymous, better safe than sorry.)

I have an idea of who it is, but yeah, let's hope something comes of it.

Damn, hope you can solve it, you know, you're an amazing developer, the first one who bring us CFW on A9LH.

Can you rename folders? If not you need to install the keyboard cia for your region. I'm not sure where you can get it though.

I can't. maybe the software keyboard applet listed on 3dbrew if the right one? I'll try getting it with 3dnus and report back.

Edit: nope, that didn't work :/

Asking the same question over and over will not make a response come any sooner. If someone has an idea of how to help you they will tell you.

Why don't you try giving a little more information. Sysnand version, emunand version, a screenshot of your file\folder structure perhaps? Something to go on other than "Hey my shit's broken help me".

EDIT: Ninja'd

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

And I also have my ps3

Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"

If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
