for all of you newcomers don't ask how/where to download roms that is the #1 quickest way to get banned btw if you wish to use bootntr on 11.14 you need to use Nanquita's fork of luma here https://github.com/Nanquitas/Luma3DS/releases
then you put the 11.14 supported bootntr selector on your SD card from here https://github.com/Nanquitas/BootNTR/releases remember mode 3 is only needed for games like sun/moon on old 3ds/2ds only!!!(which requires a soft reboot to free up memory) if you have a n3ds/2ds (the one with the second pair of L+R (commonly known as zL/zR and the grey C stick) you don't need mode 3

Do you (or anyone else) happen to know if updating to 11.5 will break anything? I want to RNG some Pokémon in the Poke Transporter App and my 3DS is nagging me to update. I can’t use the app otherwise.

as long as you use that fork of luma bootntr also works on 11.15 (when native firm is updated is when luma and bootntr breaks either nintendo forgot to update that in the process or they were only worried about entry points this time

um how does someone currently update their cfw?? i wouldnt mind playing on my 3ds but alas i know its cfw would need to be updated. so i wanted to be sure of any changes. unlike the switch update that just had to be a p.i.t.a i hope 3ds cfw wont have to be.

very simple, just replace boot.firm and boot.3dsx on the root of the sd card.

You should also update the copy of Luma on your NAND, in case something goes wrong with your SD card reader. See http://3ds.guide/restoring-updating-cfw .

How did you break your last one? It might be easily fixable without the need to buy a Sky3DS.
