mGBA emulator to be available on the Switch soon

IMG_1400.JPG

Considered by many to be the most accurate Game Boy Advance emulator, mGBA will soon be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The official Twitter account for the emulator teased their homebrew running through preexisting versions on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, alongside a Nintendo Switch, with the tagline of "mGBA does what Nintendon't." The developer is new to Switch homebrew, but is working on creating a standalone version. No release date window was given, nor any specifics, but it'll be the third major GBA emulator on the Switch, joining VBA-next and gdkGBA, as well as methods available through RetroArch.

pSNES is alreally perfect in performance & accuracy, since it uses mainline snes9x as the core.

AAAAaaaaccctually... SNES9X isn't perfect in terms of accuracy. Even today there are some notable accuracy issues with certain obscure titles. Even then, it's in a much better state than it was a few years ago and I usually use it over bsnes beta just because of performance.

Well yeah, if you want accuracy + performance, mainline snes9x is the best choice, where bsnes is extremely accurate but fails on performance, at least outside of PC.

While it does come down to personal preference to an extent, mGBA is objectively more accurate.

VBA uses a lot of speed hacks and requires work to get those NES Mini/Famicom Mini games to work due to their copy protection; mGBA plays them without any configuration.
