Emulator mGBA or VC for GBA games?

Sono had "twlpatch" option that reversed the behavior of GBA VCs or DS (i.e. starts up pixel-perfect *unless* you hold both start+select) but I don't know if that is available or compatible anymore?

Open AGB Firm or VC, MGBA isn't worth it unless you're desperate for save states as it can and will run slow even on the "New" models.

VC injection uses nintendo's official emulator to run games with another game as donor.

mGBA emulation tries to achieve 1:1 accuracy with gba hardware.
