I need the gamepad to input the address, I was referring to a console that definitely don't have a gamepad at all!
You don't need to specify an address in the browser if you overwrite the index.html using 'ftp everywhere'. There is a modded homebrew_launcher that allows dpad input so that can start the ftp everywhere app using a controller.

Also, I never had a gamepad myself so I've been using DRC_SIM server and client to stream a gamepad screen to my computer. But to achieve launching Mocha CFW w/o gamepad you wouldn't need this.

The order of doing this was a riddle to me, now I'm almost free of any gamepad dependencies.

I'd love to get more info on this

look up how to compile iosux on here. compiling mocha is the same way.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

it might be hard to find, but I found it for you: ...

it's for windows though. I don't know of a mac tutorial (if it'd be different).

Thanks! in case that my experiments turn out ok, I'll post it here.

Well.. I have been "installing" devkitPro for hours now with no luck yet. Seems to be mostly setup issues but I'll keep working on this so if you have a "tutorial" or something, that'll be much appreciated. I'll try to match your list for dev env and will post any advance.

did you already try this:
https://devkitpro.org/wiki/Getting_Started#macOS
?

does dkp-pacman work?

(note: on linux you dont need to use the exports in bash_profile if you install devkit-env as devkit-env already sets these. but again not sure if thats also the case if using macos)

Actually that's the same install tutorial that I've been using with no success.

I downloaded the *.pkg and I run it ok but if I try to install it via command line (Z shell) it shows errors and doesn't work.
I got to install the Xcode tools with "xcode-select --install" via command line with no trouble at all. I also included few old sdk's for compatibility so Xcode seems to be OK :wink:
I modified the zprofile to include the text indicated:
```
export DEVKITPRO=/opt/devkitpro
export DEVKITARM=${DEVKITPRO}/devkitARM
export DEVKITPPC=${DEVKITPRO}/devkitPPC
export PATH=${DEVKITPRO}/tools/bin:$PATH
```
but beyond that... nothing seems to work for me. I downloaded via web browser the devkitARM, devkitPPC and other files recommended by them but I get "not found" errors, so basically I can't compile yet. Following the content of https://devkitpro.org/wiki/devkitPro_pacman doesn't work for me neither since I can't download via command line.

I think that if nothing works, in the end I will upload the project to GitHub and wait for others to build it and see what happens. :hateit:

Hello, I am looking to use this CFW on a friends WiiU. I have downloaded the latest release mocha.v0.2.zip.
The version of the wiiu itself is 5.5.3U and is currently able to load homebrew_launcher_channel.v2.1.zip.
To load the homebrew launcher I am using the "latest?" browser exploit method I could find on the forum here.
"more-stable-webhack-for-5-5-2-5-5-3-5-5-4-released" is the topic name.

Also made a NAND backup and transferred it over to a different location.

Basically I am trying to help him mod his minecraft, and from what I gather, i will need to load up ftpiiu.v0.4.zip
which I grabbed this from the same github as mocha and launcher. Will load this up so I can transfer over some files to the minecraft game data folder. I also realized I will need to load mocha cfw first before I will be able to read some of the storage locations on the system like 'storage_mlc'.

My concerns are about potentially bricking the console, after attempting to run mocha. Is there anything I am missing? or any walls I may hit? Would like some feedback from any experienced modder. Thank you.

@juanKme

which version of macos do you use ?
maybe you're affected by this issue:

https://github.com/devkitPro/pacman/issues/15
(there's also a workaround in the first comment)

edit:
if you're not using macos 15.x or if the workaround doesn't help, can you try with bash?

edit2:
last but not least you could use a linux vm (arch or arch based, because they already use pacman and you only have to edit /etc/pacman.conf)

I'm working in macOS 10.15.5. I will check the link for issues and then try bash instead of zsh, thanks for the tip.

yeah, maybe try with bash (as you shouldn't be affected by the issue in github)
also maybe you can show the exact error message (from the
"sudo installer devkitpro-pacman.pkg -target /" command).

Also, does sudo work on your machine (maybe thats the issue)?

After trying the troubleshooting... still looking for help:

- I changed to bash, made the changes suggested in GitHub, tried to reinstall but got this:
Code:
bash-3.2$ sudo installer -pkg /Users/juantorres/Downloads/devkitpro-pacman-installer.pkg  –target /
Password:
installer: invalid option –target
Usage: installer [-help] [-dominfo] [-volinfo] [-pkginfo] [-allowUntrusted] [-dumplog]
                 [-verbose | -verboseR] [-vers] [-config] [-plist]
                 [-file <pathToFile>] [-lang <ISOLanguageCode>] [-listiso]
                 [-showChoicesXML] [-applyChoiceChangesXML <pathToFile>]
                 [-showChoicesAfterApplyingChangesXML <pathtoFile>]
                 -pkg <pathToPackage>
                 -target <[DomainKey|MountPoint]>

- After messing a bit with shell profiles I got to (re)install devkitpro pacman via command line and finally got to download the packages... (most of them)

Screen Shot 2020-06-10 at 16.06.35.png
Screen Shot 2020-06-10 at 16.10.51.png

– NOTE: the documentation online has an error that (apparently) nobody else has found or just has occurred to me: the shell commands should look like:

Code:
sudo dkp-pacman -S wiiu-dev -r /System/Volumes/Data

... instead of this! Carefull with parenthesis.

Code:
sudo (dkp-)pacman -S wiiu-dev -r /System/Volumes/Data

By the way, Z shell actually did work for me so the shell used shouldn't be an issue. There are some packages (like wut) that couldn't be installed so I'll keep working in the dev-env to try and build my Mocha project.

Thanks to the many comments that have helped me so far.

EDIT: Now finally I am able to build with via makefile but... looks like the GitHub repository I cloned is missing few files...

Fortunately I'm running dkp-pacman and the make process is now starting... however now I am getting this error:

Code:
juantorres@192 mochaEX % make
CC main.c
make[1]: arm-none-eabi-gcc: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [build/main.o] Error 1
make: *** [/Users/juantorres/WorkShop/Xcode/WiiU_mod/mochaEX/ios_usb/ios_usb.bin.h] Error 2

So now I don't know if the repositories I cloned are incomplete or what the problem could be... do you have any more hints?

The problem is you're using WII U homebrew to play a WII game. WII U homebrew only works with WII U software. :blink:

Use WII homebrew, like gecko os to play wii game region free. :)
