Hi guys,

Followed the guide word for word, installed IOS236 using v4 installer (offline issues so tried v4 instead of v3, connected to internet then worked with v4), completed Step 1 AND Step 2 in Installer v4.

Went to MMM (now using latest) to remove stubbed IOS's 222 etc but there werent any... normal?

WAD manager, select all, press 1, does its thing but then says "7 WADs did not complete" (all of them!)

What have I done wrong? Should I have done "install and patch IOS36" before trying to remove stubs? Can't see any of those that should have been stubbed (222 etc) in the sys check so rather confused!

Heres syscheck:

sysCheck v2.0.1 by Double_A

Region: PAL
System Menu 4.2E (v482)

eric i am just curious,if he did the right thing and had installed IOS236,would his IOS36 say patched or what? What was the relevance of IOS36 with IOS236 we used in the guide, are we using IOS236 to patch IOS36,what s the whole story behind that, can you shine some light upon me.

and how do we get this syscheck file
smile.gif

The syscheck.csv report file is generated by running a hombrew utility called, SysCheck v2.01

as far as I know IOS236 should have stayed there and shouldnt have been removed in the first place,it is obvious that you may have skipped some part of the guide.

By the way how can this no_ios_reload thing can be patched?
I mean If HBC gets a new version without this problem would it be an end to all this no_ios_reload related freezes and some bricks(according to author priiloader)

Seems like all we can do atm is to open up the meta.xml files and delete the no_ios_reload line from there isnt it?(if we dont have a working connection all the time)

Can somebody please confirm this?

From another guide:
"at step 2 be careful not to press button 1 accidentally... The programmers have hilariously put in a piracy catch'em that prevents installation if button 1 is pressed instead of button 2."

So its implying that IOS236 installs at Step 1 but is removed if you choose to complete Step 2.

Might be nice to know for sure

Thanks for the clarification xzxero

So the lesson is, if you decide to use IOS236 Installer v4 be sure to skip Step 2

It's a rather ridiculous prank to play on someone attempting this as it doesn't let you run the installer again for at least 5 attempts before hints are given to the solution... Caused me a bit of grief as i'm modding from the other side of the world! :S

Yes I am new and this is my first post so will just get to it.

Purchased a unit which is going to be for the kids for xmas. Have followed all the instructions to go from 3.4e to 4.1e so i can enable usb loading and backing up.

Have managed to install homebrew no problems then all the updates for the ios's to and including IOS60 , When i go to update the menu system though to 4.1 i get the following error.

error could not open sd:/wad/system menu-nus-v450.wad

I did download the 4.1 wad file and its in the wad directory on the sd card, within those files are the following.

RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v448.wad
RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v449.wad
RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v450.wad

so it looks like to me they are there but maybe incorrectly named ??

Any help on this would be most appreciated.

You would want the 450 wad as it is for PAL wiis. 448 is jap, and 449 is USA... But why are you trying to install 4.1 anyways? Just follow this guide and update to 4.2...

Hi,

I need help, my kids are going to kill me.

I was trying to get the USB Loader on my new black 4.2u wii and was following some instructions, after which, I was able to load a game to USB Drive, but when I restarted, i see the Menu in Japanese and eventually updated to 4.3j.

I don't understand the Japanese and donno the way to get it back to US English menu along with all options.

Please help me. I know I messed up somewhere, but not sure where.

Thank you for your help.

Try and follow the Update 4.2 portion of the guide, see if that gets you back up and running
smile.gif

You can obviously skip the installing the hbc step, just load up MMM and install the wads...
