Hacking Moving games/channels around the home menu

All games are on external hard drive. Currently the game titles are all arranged in order of when they were installed. I would like to maybe move/re-arrange them into alphabetical or game types, etc..
I can temporarily drag and drop the icons and move them around but on the next startup they are right back to the original layout/placement.
Is there a way that I can make it permanent???

Uh, sounds like you have something going on with your home menu. I can move mine all over the place and they permanently stay there.

Are you by any chance removing the hdd after use. If you unplug the hdd from the wiiu the game order you have will reset back to order of install

I`m not removing the HDD but of course it does power down on automatically (y-cable, not independantly powered HDD) when you shut off the console
