Reuters reports that former Labour cabinet minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer had a 20-minute conversation yesterday with Mubarak: "He had very tough things to say about the United States," Ben-Eliezer told Israeli TV.

According to Reuters:

QUOTE said:
"He gave me a lesson in democracy and said: 'We see the democracy the United States spearheaded in Iran and with Hamas, in Gaza, and that's the fate of the Middle East,'" Ben-Eliezer said.

"'They may be talking about democracy but they don't know what they're talking about and the result will be extremism and radical Islam,'" he quoted Mubarak as saying.

I hope he is not right about this, because another radical Islamic regime would be not only the End of Egyptian Economy, but also another big Problem for the Middle east.
At Moment a military Man from Air Force gave his Office to another Military Regime.

oh and for why he looks too young he spend about 2 hours dying his hair & applying makeup by professionals before appearing in front of any camera.

Congratulations!

Can you please reassure some of our more paranoid friends across the Atlantic that you're not going to put the Muslim Brotherhood into power and go on a crazed mission to destroy Israel?
wink.gif

I really want that reassurance

Well to tell you the truth that is highly unlikely but then again it was highly unlikely that we have another president in the next decades other than Mubark and his son,but even if by some miracle they took the government Egypt doesn't currently have the ability to do such a thing . So I believe that unless Israel do something stupid as start another war or something similar they don't have to fear people here at Egypt demanding for this mission.

I'm not worried about it, it's just the excuse some in the west were using to put down the protesters. Most of the world, however, has huge respect and admiration for the bravery the egyptian people have shown. The main worry for me is that israel won't be happy about not having a puppet government which will enforce that side of the gaza blockade and as soon as banned items like concrete and coriander start passing through they'll attack egypt.

Most of the world is not worried? Every Politicians from Europe and North-America gave concerns about a radical Islam.
After all this comments, I really see that you dislike the "west" and Israel, at least our daily politics.
Why are you living among us if you dislike our politics?
If I hate the Politics of my country I would try to be part of a revolution, like the Egyptians did, or at least leave the Country, which I don't support.
As you know we support Israel.

This is just the beginning of a Democracy, saying A or B will happen is just guessing.
Let's not forget that Nazi Germany was build on a "revolution" and at least on the beginning with democratic steps, same for Iran and other "democracies".

I'm watching a piece on this situation right now on the NBC Nightly News. -only 300 deaths?! WOW. yes, every life is important and it's sad that people died but is this truly one of the least bloody revolutions in human history? I mean, most major revolutions usually cost thousands of lives but only 300 is an amazing feat. Congrats to the Egyptian people for getting their "freedom" (right now that word is relative until September). I'm so proud of them
