for emulators there is nes, gg, and snes (old alpha).

For homebrew look up spooky jam, plus there are games like 40 winks, big2small and Xeno crisis

I too, am upset the N64 scene isn't more popping... The system and everdrives for development have been prevalent for many years now. And the system, while complex af is well-documented and has even cloned to FPGA hardware using reverse-engineering. (by Mazamars on Twitter, if you're curious who and how.)
