If I remember right the only version that was affected was the US version, other versions were good, but I could be wrong.

All 3DS versions were/are still affected. It's just that the bug triggers rather rarily.

I've saved everywhere with no issues after 5 playthroughs (start to 100%), is it in all versions? I got eshop EUR one...

I can talk only about retail eur version. I don't know if there is a specific place where this happens or if it's random, but it happened to me and many people also here in gbatemp.

it's awful to corrupt the save in the middle of a game like this.

Toss up between Kid Icarus Uprising and Majora's Mask 3D; probably the former if you twisted my arm.

Honorable mentions go to the Ace Attorney series; I would vote for all of it if I could, but you said choose one game, and while the series as a whole may be my favorite in gaming, individually they don't really measure up to other 3DS titles,. Certainly from the gameplay perspective, at any rate.

Ugh, only one..? There are other games that I like more for certain reasons, but the most overall joy I've gotten from a 3DS game is Tri Force Heroes.

It's got great level design and enough glitches (using items/abilities in unintended ways, not "crash" or "game break" type glitches) that there's a surprising replay value. Cheering on other players through their discoveries and victories, using humourously drawn emoticons, makes me smile so hard.

The eShop version has the bug "patched" by simply not letting you save in certain rooms. I got a physical copy of the US version, and the "patch" is in place, so they must have reissued the game at some point.
