I'm having an issue with the NFC not working on my pro controller. I've taken it apart to fix the analog stick drifting issue but today I noticed the NFC is no longer working on it after getting the pearl and marina amiibo, any advice would be helpful

Not exactly sure what the issue might be but from the looks of it sounds like your gonna be taking it back apart again.

Yeah I don't mind doing that but I'm not sure how to go about doing it since I didn't actually do a tear down on it but just replace the analog stick.

Have a pro controller too and its seems the nfc reader is on the top of the controller near the charger and the :switch: symbol, kinda strange that would happen, still check maybe if something got pulled or pinched when closing it up. Maybe too thinking your switch nfc enabled options under system settings got reset to off somehow inadvertently?

Nah the NFC isn't disabled and it works just fine on my joycons. I have no idea where the NFC part is I'm assuming on the front half but I never messed with it.

So just brainstorming here on things I would try not sure if you have or not but figured, why not? Did you try and push the little re sync button near the charging port? how bout fully rebooting the switch back up and lastly give it a good a charge and come back later if no luck other than its gotta be something in your controller that's loose or even ESD (Electrostatic discharge) damage is possible when you took it apart and touched anything inside without grounding yourself first. Might of been just lucky enough to still have a functional controller but unlucky enough to have destroyed something that registers the nfc reader not sure but may be possible, especially if you were working standing/sitting on a carpet rug.

I've tried all of that and no success. It's not too much of a big deal to me since the controller works otherwise but it is a nuisance since I have to use the joycons for anything NFC related. ESD is not something I took into account, I do have one of those wrist straps though.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

Just found out he's doing alright, doing a lot of complaining too, rightfully so. Who wouldn't complain after having a seizure and being hospitalized?
