ROM Hack Oldschool NDS linker...cant get pokemon black/white to work!

I have a "DS LINKER 16GB" the one that was reviewed on this site years ago. Is it possible to get pokemon black/white to work on it without locking up? I can get thru the beginning but when I goto new game, it freezes with a picture of a trainer about to come on. I've seen numerous patches and tired numerous versions of the games....any opinions or ideas on which one, if any work?

Don't be cheap, just get a new cart.
