Hacking On PS2 OPL, VMCs sometimes take way too long to save (SSD)

Including (but likely not limited to) NFS MW, Outrun 2006 and SSX Tricky. Sometimes it lasts from 20 seconds to 2 minutes. Sometimes it saves at a normal speed. Any way to fix that ? I'm using the Kaico hdd adapter and Grimdoomer's OPL (exfat), could those have an effect on that ?

Perhaps hunt down a Sony brand official Network adapter with SATA, when I had a PS2 with the official network adapter with SATA adapter, no problem with it.
