Hacking Original Xbox Games load to black/can't download box art

Could be that the other guides aren't considering a complete virgin HDD i.e. a MS harddrive with the Emu already on it.

I personally prefer FileZilla.
Folder rips and GOD games can be copied via FTP.
DLC and Title updates is best done with 360 content manager.
Much easier and quicker.

Yea I took out the stock HDD and put in a 1TB. I formatted it and set it up with Dashlaunch and FSD with no issue.

I could only get one game to work: Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Crash Team Racing says it is signing out of my profile and freezes, and Marvel vs Capcom goes to a black screen. I guess with the hacked compatibility files, it still has low compatibility? Is there a list of OG Xbox Games that work?

*edit* I got box art to download by inputting my Xboxunity account into FSD

It has the same compatibility as the original emu.
With a couple of more games.

I don't have a list tho, maybe google has.

One thing I noticed about my HDD1 partition, is that there is no Partition2 folder. Again, I have a 1TB internal drive in my Phat RGH'd HDD, and I formatted it in the MS Dash.

I am thinking of completely reformatting and starting over. Is there a specific way I should be formatting the HDD for use with my RGH system?

I didn't RGH this. I bought it modded.

I suppose i need to update it, but I don't wanna mess something up, as I read somewhere that if you update incorrectly, I could loose the RGH mod.

you need to install the official update that's on the system currently. using the wrong update will mes the system up. look under systems settings under kernel.

you need to use j runner or xebuild to create a flash update that won't mess up your system. it will only be a flash file, so the hdd won't be messed with. that's the reason that you need to install an ofw. you can tell by the wording what it's going to do. without the update, media, kinect, avatar and possibly xbox files won't work since all have to be installed to the hdd.

I got it all working. I had a!collection that was supposedly specific for playing OG Xbox on 360. I have a different collection now, and they all seem to work.

Now, I am still having issues getting box art to show up for OG Xbox games.

maybe post your dashlaunch settings? can you ftp to the console freely? are you using any parental controls? blocking live access is fine. I can't recall many of the others off the top of my head.

I never gotten boxart to work on the Xbox games on FSD, I doubt it even works as it also doesn't fetch any title description what so ever.

You could manually add them tho.

But you have to download them one image at a time. The collection looks pretty complete though.

Also there's "the zone for isos". Looks like there's a complete pack on there.

As for 360 I can't really help there. I'm curious myself where they are stored.

artwork is stored in a database. afaik, the only way to change artwork is to to make an http connection to FSD. you can do this with the 360. iirc, there's a default username and password (think it's xbox) or you can create one. type your 360's ip address in the computer's browser, type in the username and password (can be found in the http section next to the ftp one in settings), then you're in. you can choose any of the categories (i.e. xbla, xbox, etc). you can even transfer games to the hidden category. this is good if you have multi-disc games since the correct disc will always be played no matter what, so you could have disc 1 shown in FSD, and all other discs hidden to prevent clutter.

edit: I don't know about Aurora though. I don't use that nor FS3 (they changed the name from Freestyle Dash to Freestyle with version 3). FSD2 loads a lot faster for me than FS3 and Aurora; otherwise, I'd use one of them. I have hundreds of games, and the database is loaded completely with each version, so I think that's why.

I don't know why you're not using Aurora. This is the most maintained dashboard and downloads covers automatically. If a game has the wrong cover or you're not happy with it, you can download a different cover from the list of available covers for said game. - The best dash I've used, will be honest here.

I highly prefer FSD over Aurora.
Aurora is pretty much game centered whilst FSD is an extension to the MS dash.

I didn't want this thread to turn into FSD vs Aurora, but does Aurora let you auto download artwork for OG Xbox games? I am setting up a 360 for a friend of mine, and he really wants a bunch of OG Xbox gamws on it. While I don't mind manually adding artwork for those games (background, box art, and screenshots), It would be nice to auto download them.

Speaking of artwork, what dimensions do backgrounds and screenshots need to be if I am manually adding those?
