What is the reason why the LED does not flash after Zero brushes the 2.6 firmware?
board detection failed. you can try soldering into console (it is safe), if still no LED light, you can set RGB jumper - this forces rp2040-zero board, but colors might be reversed.

I am still working on a safe board detection method. don't want to make many .uf2 for different boards

NOT tested, so NOT putting into the main post (will be updated once I test everything).

no guarantees, use at your own risk.
for those who can't wait

!!!!PINOUT!!!! (resistors / mosfets are still required)

Common GPIO for all boards:
CMD => 28
CLK => 27
RST => 26

Waveshare 2040-zero / 2040-one (default, floating pins 29, 11, 16):
DAT => 29
CPU => 15

Raspberry Pi Pico (detected by thermal sensor on pin 29):
DAT => 22
CPU => 21

XIAO2040 (detected by LED power on pin 11):
DAT => 29
CPU => 6

Adafruit ItsyBitsy (detected by LED power on pin 16):
DAT => 29
CPU => 24

ChangeLog:
- fixed regulator setup
- firmware update feature (+ rollback to backup in case of non-working fw update)
- multiple boards support (no idea if that works, magic, ensure LED blinks after write! that means detection worked fine!!)
- extended OFW support, should not break BOOT0 anymore, OFW BCT is copied into the unused space

P.S. I need some rest.
The LED light does not flash after zero brushing 2.6, including starting switch

Hello, I was able to successfully mod a V2 switch with picofly, I used irlhs6242 mosfet as it was the only one I had on hand close enough to 8342, works perfectly.

Great work!
I'm having the idea to try to reball the eMMC as well, didn't get the courage yet :P
Did you have trouble while detaching the chip from the stencil after reflowing the solder paste? And what were the temperatures used in all the steps?
Thanks!

now that we have seeed xiao support, has anybody tried if it fits somewhere on the board without removing the type-c port? i have seen someone in this topic fitting rp2040 zero underside of the trigger with cutting some part. would xiao fit there without cutting?

guys i discovered this today and ordered these parts, should I order something else?
  • 0805 SMD 47R
  • Waveshare RP2040-One
  • Hwfly Lite curved cable
You're gonna need:
- Of course some wire, usually 0.2 enameled wire is the suggested type
- Thermal paste to replace the one you'll have to take off
- Kapton tape to keep the RP2040 in place and avoid shorts

I think you already have a soldering iron and solder

just a quick FYI here, I had my rp2040-ONE successful boots to new logo V2.6 bl and I switched back to rp2040-zero which was on v2.5, BUT when It boots, the zero board also shows me v2.6 new logo surprisingly. I then bridge PIN0 & PIN1 reset zero board and it rolls back to v2.5 "NO SD" screen as promised.
Wondering if v2.6 somehow remains on sysnand at temp or not
