The adapter can work. There are several versions.
Waste heat can cause the adapter to shift. This means you no longer have any real contact with Dat0.
That's why I fix them with tin (the grounds) and non conducting hot glue, to avoid the shifting. For now it's working, all the oleds that I've modded survived the shipping transport + I warn the customer to treat it like a new born baby, not to throw it on bed etc... If the adapter shifts and it's their fault, then they'll have to pay the modding fee twice, I hope this scares them enough to treat it correctly.

@Myst0gan

Difficult situation. As a modder, you are responsible for this. Either you do it with an adapter or you practice how to reball the chip.
In my hands, reballing will kill 100% of oleds that I mod. I killed 3 switches and 3 iphones trying to learn how to reball, I'm never going through that path anymore, got enough blood on my hands 😂 The adapters that I got are pretty tight though and tin+hot glue are working fine for now.

Hello, there is a github of rehius and Ansem-SoD, is it the one for rehius with version 2.75 that you should take?

I compared version 2.73 of rehius and Ansem-SoD it is not the same files, some flash unlock.uf2 is this normal?

How is it ever the customer's fault that the adapter shifts?

If your chargeing i really recomend reballing its not that hard or atleast heat with knife tip jumper right under the emmc so it solders the ball. 153bga is really easy to do reball I can offer help and suggestions Im a cellphone repair expert and focus on emmc ufs investigations and wondering if I can do a full dump with Easy jtag?

If they shake it violently, throw the console on bed, floor etc...

I see some jealousy in your comment.

I don't think so its good to say its user's fault. You are doing a service, that should be done properly for what it is priced at.
It is done properly, only because you have a different opinion, doesn't mean that it's done wrongly.
And... Before the customer gets the console, I test it, if they pick up personally, they test if it's working correctly or not. After all these, if few days later the customer comes back and says the mod stopped working because he dropped the console, then it's 100% his fault, not mine!! Don't forget, that the consoles haven't been engineered to be modded, so whatever we install, isn't being done "properly" from the beginning.

If I follow your logic, then it's Nintendo's fault whenever I drop a console and it breaks, because they haven't used "proper" materials.
I got few joycons to repair, which stopped working after being dropped... Let me know if Nintendo wants to switch them with working ones, so I'll send them to you.

I disagree.

In my opinion the adapter method is a shitty method since the contact is made only by pressure. We've already seen many users in this forum reporting that the DAT0 adapter lost connection after some time, and I can personally confirm this after 6 months in 2 consoles, both failed with DAT0 adapter, even if it was fixed with solder + epoxy glue, so no external movement of the adaptor and both consoles were used at home and treated well.

Don't want to generalize here, but if the console is somehow mistreated or just normally used and the only thing that is "broken" is the DAT0 connection to the chip due to the adapter use, definitely this is NOT the user's fault that the connection was lost but it's totally installer's. If the connection was "properly" done (e.g. by soldering), it wouldn't lose the signal in most of the cases.

You're comparing apple with bananas, both are fruit, but ain't the same. Shifting because of a drop and shifting it by itself are two different things. Everything started with this comment, that some people are struggling to understand 🤦🏽‍♂️
I have never said that if someone brings back the console it's automatically their fault.

I don't know what you guys tell to your customers, but mine are warned since the beginning that I use the adapter and it's not a definitive and permanent solution like a solder joint and their consoles could be bricked. This is what I'm comfortable with and offer, if they want other solutions, then they'll have to ask someone else.

I think we found the installer that blames everything on the customer.

Let's be real here, way back when all we had was the crappy single anchor corner dat0 adapter, those were in fact prone to shifting over time.

The newer and far better 4 anchor ones. If those somehow lose connection and your refusing to fix it then shame on you. Those should realistically never move. Of course only if done properly.

remember the problem with the adapter is not that it moves and loses the connection, but the heat generated widens the forks and shorts out the dat0 dat1. the adapter even with a single soldered tab never, ever moves.

As an installer I personally offer unlimited warranty on my work, if the modification does not work for a reason X I am always personally liable. I've handled a lot of re-entries for the adapter and I've had a lot of experience with it. Now all my worked OLEDs (about a hundred) all work. I think everyone should do the same
I also handled 2 cases of purple screen for free.
As an ex security enthusiasts, 'unlimited' is forbidden.
Everything must have expiration thats the first rule.
Imagine what happened to Earth if human have 'unlimited' age.

i am concern with your way of 'business'.
Its ideal, but as far as i know its not working for long.
i just hope the best for you.

People in my country always have a fantasy of 'honesty' restaurant.
Means you could eat then pay it, without any staff in there to make sure you pay correctly.
Its kind of 'open source' restaurant. The purpose are the restaurant is from people for people.
Its to create work opportunity for the people around it, and give people (investor) around it to get revenue.
The result always make them goes bankrupt.
Majority people will turn into 'monster' when they could abuse the system without any form of 'punishment'.
Lot of the consumer pay less than what they eat. Or not pay at all.
The idea is good, but human mind are not.

the warranty is limited to my worked part obviously, understood as installation. obviously if someone throws the console against a wall, for example, causing other types of damage, obviously I am not liable, as well as for natural death, everything breaks sooner or later.

Is anybody else facing issues with their picofly after updating to FW 17.0.0 and 17.0.1?
Im using the latest picofly firmware 2.75 and HATS Pack 1.6.2.

As soon as I'm trying to log into my Nintendo account on the OFW I'm getting error 2002-3539.
initializing the OFW via maintenance mode lets me enter the Home menu again.

The crazy thing is, if I connect my NAND-Chip back to the mainboard (without connection to picofly chip) I can log in to my Ninento account just fine. So the issue seems to be with the picofly chip.

Normal people learns to "read" and "understand" words already at elementary school, seems like you haven't acquired those basic skills yet 🤦🏽‍♂️ Don't worry, there are night schools for people like you, if you have average amount of neurons, then you should still be able to "learn" those skills 👍🏽

I'm cheering for you, buddy 👌🏽

Please stop installing modchips when you are clearly not capable of doing it right.

You are are one of the installers that i previous mentioned.
The one that give the rest of us bad rep. with your half ass job.

And the reason why so many dont want to leave away their consoles to modders and try it them self.
