Hey people! I'm here to share with you my new hack rom. It's based on Silver Blue/Soul Silver and lets you start the adventure in Kanto like you're playing an Yellow remake!

Features

- Pikachu as starter with edited moveset and status
- Redesign of Kanto's wild Pokémon
- Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur obtainable through Pokémon Yellow events
- Primal Town and Team Rocket epic event
- The God's Garden as a new area
- Mega Charizard X instead of Y
- National Park with many different Pokémon
- Red as protagonist
- Mew, Deoxys, Jirachi, Suicune, Registeel, Regirock and Regice and many more catchable
- Blue is now at Mt. Silver with a team composed by some of his Pokémon of anime/games/manga
- The Pokémon who need to be traded to evolve can do it reaching lvl 36 or using the required item
- Wild Pokémon edited
- Trainers' levels balanced
- Some Pokémon attacks edited (see the "read me")
- Lucas (Platinum Hero) can be challenged at Victory Road
- Kanto starters (Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur) can now mega-evolve
- EV Training Road

Changelog
About 2.0: the core philosophy of the update is to make exploration cooler:
- You will be able to go anywhere anytime. Just catch water and flying Pokémon and the map is wide open for you! But be careful, the GYM leaders and E4 are way harder!
- Johto is full of surprises:
you can get starters from winning against the leaders; catch legendaries and unobtainable Pokémon; use the move tutor; do the Team Rocket event and much more.

- Game rebalanced -> stronger GYM leaders and E4; flying locations from Johto removed; wild pokémon edited
- Johto's GYM leaders give you starter Pokémon if you win their 2x2 battles!

- Mega Evolution method changes: you must use the item from Lucas' battle!

About Mega-evolutions
- They are in the game but just for the Kanto starters
- They work as a new evolution and are reversible
- To know how to mega-evolve, defeat Lucas at Victory Road. He will tell you
- The movesets of Mega-Pokémon are similar (not equal) to 6th gen (see Bulbapedia)
- There is not Charizard Y in-game
- The Mega-Pokémon oveworld sprites were not edited because in 6th gen they just appear in battles
- I replace them with Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit

[HOTFIX v1.18 - June 27, 2023 by DeadSkullzJr]
This update fixes compatibility quirks with certain solutions like TWiLightMenu. I have no idea if the v2.0 build mentioned in the main thread changelog is still be worked on or if the hack is dead, however, I felt this was necessary because the issue I was presented with via a user utilizing TWiLightMenu showed that simply loading save data yields a crash, which obviously isn't supposed to happen. As for flash cartridges, while some kernels seem fine with the 1.17 build, this isn't the case for every kernel out there.

Does it have the game corner underground rocket hideout? And does the adventure end after blue at mt silver?
The game corner underground is not there. The Team Rocket event added takes place at Safari Zone Gate and goes until Primal Town and The God's Garden. The adventure ends when you visit The God's Garden.

This is cool, will test with nds-bootsrap

Update: works with NDS-bootstrap, however when you continue with the custom save, it does not work :(

I have been waiting for this! I am so excited. I was just wondering if there was a doc detailing the changes that you've made to pokemon? For example, what are pikachu's changes?

I've thought about the doc thing but as a design decision I prefer the surprise factor. However, I might do it in future updates. :toot:

So from a balancing point of view: Pikachu is waaay overpowered. It learns thunderbolt before discharge which is a bit weird and given its special attack stat, allows it to pretty much destroy anything. Also, it learning iron tail so early pretty much just makes it far too strong far too quickly. I know this isn't cannon, but would you consider editing the base stats of riachu as well? So that we could still evolve Pikachu if we wanted to.

Maybe consider having Brock given rock tomb instead of rock slide (which is also pretty OP for this point in the game).

Possibly consider updating the items that you can pick up? It seems that they are the same as the ones from the postgame of vanilla soul silver, so they are mostly posed at a post-game level. This extends to hidden items: I have found a hyper potion and a max potion already, and I haven't fought Misty yet.

Lastly, maybe also consider editing the held items of trainers. I have fought 2 trainers who have glooms that are holding sitrus berries (I think).

Another question, does we need to use the .sav that is provided? Can't we just create our own savefile?
The .sav provided loads tons of things the game needs so you must use it.

I'm pretty bummed. I can't figure out why but every time I've done the instructions correctly. I put the new .nds file on my flashcart and it just sits stuck saying "Loading". I did a different rom hack for Heart Red and that works but I can't get this one to. :(

As far as i know this does not work on any r4 flashcarts or third party that use r4 software like wood version or such.

I got few flashcarts and my ace3ds,acekart,and r4 dont work.
But android emulators and ds emulators on pc works fine for me.
So dunno what would cause issue unless its an error that a flashcart only sees.

Hopefully they can test it with flashcarts or find the underlying issue with flashcarts or just play game on pc and android.

Edit: tested the acekard with admin settings and disabled dma settings and now it works. With dma settings on game won't work. So turning dma off fixed flashcarts issue.

Apparently all flashcarts and having dma issues with the game why doesn't work.
