Hi, I was playing with mi N3DSXL (with Luma3DS 10.2.1) the other day and eventually I realized that the START button wasn't working so I restarted it and immediately opened the Luma configuration menu and if I pressed start it would just freeze, so I realized that the SELECT button was stuck even though I can press the button normally. I disassemble my 3DS and checked if it had something pressing down the SELECT button but it wasn't even dirty, still I cleaned it with alcohol, assemble it again and it powered on normally, I tried a few games, and the buttons worked but in about 10 minutes it happened again and is still with the SELECT button stuck (the problem appeared 2 days ago) . By holding L it powers on normally, I can even play games but the START and Select Button won't work so I read online that is best to replace the power board but mi 3DS has the version without a cable like in the image, problem is I'm having trouble finding the replacement and the version with cable is everywhere on ALI so I was hoping someone would know if the cabled version would work with mi N3DSXL or if I have to buy the same version mine has. Thanks in advance.

yeah I know that the one in the first picture is probably the one I have to buy but I was asking because the one in the second picture is also for the new 3DS XL according to the vendors, maybe is also compatible with mi 3DS, I just don't know how to find that out.

Vendors dont know diddly if they are saying that a outright obviously different board is going to fit and work with yours. You will need the one exact to what your console has.

The board in the second picture will not work. The reason is that the board is too small for a New 3DS XL system. The vendors are trying to swindle you out of your money. If you need a board buy this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32877051908.html

Thanks for the link, I was actually just watching that one, sorry if I'm to bothersome but I was reading another post and someone bought this same one but it had a different code, for example his was RED-01 (written in the board) and the one that he bought was RED-02. He said that the board didn't work for him (the console wouldn't power on) but he said that maybe it was just faulty since the board was a used one, Does anyone know if that RED-01/02 code actually makes a difference? I asked the vendor but a don't think I'll get a straight answer, I do know that they are more worried to make sales, I was just trying to cover all my bases.

I honestly don't think that it makes a difference. When a board's model number changes, it's due to a silent revision of the board. When that happens, a new firmware is released so that the CPU can work with the new board. If your system has up to date firmware, you should have no issues.

If it makes any difference, the main motherboard is model RED-CPU-01, unless Nintendo also made a silent revision to the main motherboard as well.
