This is precisely why the separation of church and state is so important. If people believe that their god wants them to overthrow the government, many will be willing to die trying to do so. I've witnessed firsthand that mentality, and it's extremely dangerous.
This is also why so many diehard Trump supporters are clueless religious nutheads. Trump's worked very hard to synonym his name with Christianity solely for voters. Hence, more religious extremists (who, by nature, are more likely to believe fiction anyway) swear that Trump won, that Trump's the second coming of Christ, on and on and on. Every attack on Trump is an attack from the Devil. Every victory for Trump is God's work in action. It's laughable from a distance, but extremely convincing when one is in the middle of it, and affirmed every Sunday and with every dose of Fox News.
Trump is desperately depending on people who refute evidence and all but worship him to return to power. He doesn't care about them, but characteristically, they will never realize that. And unfortunately for the rest of us, there are a LOT of clueless people in America.
