UnFSelf tool, drag n drop eboot.bin to it.
can you please send me this file for some reason ive been kicked off that forum but they continue to post my work

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I understand that you have to download Unfself drop eboot.bin(rename to.elf) and apply the downgrade elf. I only tried with days gone and give me a error. Delete the line of error in the downgrade elf.py and the script work but i have to test. I dont know how to repack.

you must use the UnFSelf tool to make eboot.bin into elf file then use the tool

Wait, what? There's a problem line in the script? How did you get it to work after unfself? I think I know how to put it back together but how did you even get the script to run at all?

the problem i ran into with the script wad these 2 lines of code:

LINE 8 : from hexdump import hexdump - throws an error and stops, im assuming if you remove this it will work ill try it out
LINE 9: from pprint import pprint - this looks same as above so assuming this will also give an error

EDIT: removed both those lines it worked fine... well i didnt have a valid elf file but it got further than the crash before

yes confirmed line 8 is the only issue for me too

you must use another tool on the eboot.bin file to get it to elf format (UnFSelf) drag eboot onto it (i cannot obtain the file as ive got login issues on that forum) someone please send me it.

then you place 2 files into BackPort folder and hit the button

so you use that app, drag eboot.bin

now you get eboot-decrypted , rename this to old.elf

copy that file and sfo to BackPort folder and use my app works perfectly

im working on it mate, its slightly longer process than i thought but with that tool hippy dave posted and my tool you can do it all manually now.

1. extract pkg
2. take eboot.bin and param.sfo place them in backport folder call them both old
3. get UnFself.exe in there too and drag eboot.bin onto that file
4. now rename eboot-decrypted to old.elf
5. run my app click backport
6. take new.elf and new.sfo and replace the files in original locations
7. repack the pkg

Hmm, I still get invalid .elf even after I do that, even after removing those lines in the script....

you must decrypt the eboot.bin file first with UnFself.exe

About this Ripkit tool, I don't get it: when I click on "Make Ripkit", it tooks about 30 minutes, creating a "original" folder and a "original.zip" file that it deletes in the end... I end up with an empty "ripped.gp4" file and a 1 KB "patch.RiPPERD" file, nothing more...

I only wish to backport a 6.72 game to 5.05 (no more modding).

I managed to extract the PKG file using this tool (in "original" directory before its automatic destruction). I did the required steps for "eboot.bin" and "param.sfo" (so I have patched ones). However, I don't get how I can repack a PKG. I tried various other tools which all asked me a ".gp4" file and I don't know how to get this file (the best I could do was with PKGEditor which generates a ".gp4" file but fails on re-using it).

Do you have any idea? Is there a simple tool which extract the PKG file, let me do some changes and can repack it after? Thank you for your help.
