Sorry, I will be a little more specific. I have been able to load arm asm on the 3ds, but I can not figure out how to write to the framebuffer to show on the screen.
Do you have a circuit to show and More documentation?
I would like to dive deeper in this If you could PM me your work? I'm currently building a diy circle pad but my IR tranciever broke down so this would acctually work better.

lol, you don't have to touch python.
Go to the link in the first post and download 'Binary' on the page. In that file there will be a CODEEXEC folder. Starting at offset 0x6F4 you can insert (overwrite) your arm asm code on top of the repeating E0 3E 0C 08 instructions.

When I run Build.py I get this message.
i'm getting the same it appears to be trying to connect to something.
although i was able to get it to write a launcher.dat file to my drive "e:/ " o.O
edit: hmm payload.bin
Got it to compile. Had to change a few things in the scripts and toolchain but it wasn't too hard. 
If you're getting errors you may have to install ARM GCC or python 2.7.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
