There is an easy to make DIY dongle that's <10 euro right?
Isn't it a better idea for the users that really want a dongle, to just get the parts and make it themselves?
If youre talking about the router, then you still need a cable. Which cost more than those chinese thingy.
Also it is for convienience (having an integrated usb c port)

God damn it, now the R4 name is infecting the Switch too? I thought we were finally rid of that name.
Let's hope this doesn't mean a wave of a million clones all using the R4 name.
Interesting! Probably a clone of SX, but still curious about what it offers.
Not sure how you would even clone SX Pro since all it is is essentially a payload loader, there's nothing unique about the hardware, and the software is free to download and not locked to SX Pro.
Unless they actually include a cracked copy of SX OS that is (but I doubt that)

My first reaction to the title was "Come one. Let the R4 just go, enough people used this/similar sounding names", but nice to see that this time it's a product actually from the R4 team.

Edit:

But this time it's a product from the company that made the original R4.

Had a look on their quick start document...

It tells you to use tinfoil to install hulu.nsp, then use LayeredFS to load devmenu to install other nsp.

what??

And the xci support is converting xci to layered fs format on pc then use mod_Plague to load it... ffs

Why would R4 come back for the Switch? Well come to think of it, it's probably just a clone of SXOS that will brick your Switch like their Gateway clones bricked many 3DS systems :P
Pretty sure they removed the brick code in one of their os updates, 1.3 I think.
Though it's looking like the R4 team is just using Atmosphère.
