There are so many portable console(s) for emulators with newer models get released all the time that it's chaotic. It also doesn't helps the fact that YouTubers who review that kind of consoles are divided when it comes to reviewing of certain consoles. I was thinking buying Retroid Pocket 2+ but unfortunately you can only buy it from their official site and it takes months to get delivered (it's even worse with Greek delivery services being garbage). So my question is: which portable console(s) for emulators would you recommend and they're already available in the market? If possible, consoles that are available at Banggood.

Here are some of my basic requiredments:
- Being able to be connected with HDMI cable at TV
- Being able to connect extra wireless controllers on tv
- Playing perfectly emulators for these consoles: GBA, SNES, Playstation 1
- Having the best performance possible for these consoles: Nintendo 64, Saturn, Dreamcast, arcades (including 3D arcade games from late '90s - early 2000s)
- Having easy-friendly interface and preinstalled emulators

I think a V1 unpatched Nintendo Switch is a good option. It matches all of your requirements above, EXCEPT preinstalled emulators. They average around $80 to $300 depending on their condition, and if you get a V1 specifically, you can hack it and install numerous emulators. It runs PSX, Dreamcast, and even some Saturn.

If you are looking for more performance, and software versatility, then the Steam Deck is your way to go. It is about 3 times as powerful as a Nintendo Switch, and starts at a respectable $399. It should be able to emulate just about anything, and as a bonus can be used as a real PC. It doesn't come with any emulators, but since it runs Linux, you can easily install them.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
