I don't know then. it might be detecting the console's language. I changed mine to region hax, but I never actually tested it other than looking in system config tool to see if it worked. this was on sysNAND too.

Yeah, but i'm talking about about modifying everything.. like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<sys_prod type="complex" access="710">
<version type="unsignedInt" length="4" access="710">5</version>
<eeprom_version type="unsignedShort" length="2" access="710">1</eeprom_version>
<product_area type="unsignedInt" length="4" access="710">4</product_area>
<game_region type="unsignedInt" length="4" access="700">119</game_region>
<ntsc_pal type="string" length="5" access="700">PAL</ntsc_pal>
<5ghz_country_code type="string" length="4" access="710">EU</5ghz_country_code>
<5ghz_country_code_revision type="unsignedByte" length="1" access="710">24</5ghz_country_code_revision>
<code_id type="string" length="8" access="710">FEH</code_id>
<serial_id type="string" length="12" access="710">0000000000</serial_id>
<model_number type="string" length="16" access="710">WUP-101(03)</model_number>
</sys_prod>

What do i need to change there to change even the console region, not just the game region...

You should be higly careful with this, the Wii U is very fragile, and a minor slip in these numbers would result in the console no longer launching titles. If you wish to attempt stuff like this, do it in redNAND, but I higly reccomend against it.

If you still can't use out-of region games despite using the regular regionhax, just use Mocha patches when needed or haxchi, as messing with this poses far more danger.

I know the dangers.

I remember a few years ago trying spiik and selecting Europe and English to play my European copy of paper mario color splash but it ended up not being read as valid on the home menu. And ourloader lead it straight to an error. I'm playing on a US wii u

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to buy Japanese Wii U games discs since they are now so cheap (brand new for 2 to 3 USD). I have 2 Wii U machines US and European.

I am interested in playing those games on one of those machines and here is my question:

I browsed through the site and found that this Region Free issue is solved long time back but I couldn't understand the terminology or the different methods and options. Can any one be kind enough to tell me the easies and simplest way of playing Japanese and which machine is the easiest to be modified. I am looking for steps as in the "For Dummies" book series or a video link in youtube showing steps and the download files links in description. I am not interested in hacking the machine or modding any game ...etc. I only want to be able to play Japanese original games.

Thank you for your help.

Update 10 Sep.
Just bought a Japanese used Mario maker console for100USD. Case Closed.

did this method on my sysnand as soon it came out a few years ago and everything works fine EXCEPT Paper Mario Color Splash EUR.
Don't know what I have to do but Spiik doesn't work either.

    When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

    I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

    sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
