retro Action rpg games?

No clue. But I purchased a Sinden Light Gun and I’ve been playing some neat games for a while now. Turns out I’m pretty decent. Which makes sense because I’ve had a gun license and carried a hand gun since I turned 18.
Damn it, I was gonna suggest Shining Soul 1 & 2 for the GBA. You know what I'm just gonna suggest Summon Night Swordcraft Story.

Summon Knight 1 and 2. The translation team for Summon Knight 3 has slowed to a crawl, despite being like 99% done, I dunno what their problem is.
Haha, I'm certain the OP said ACTION. I couldn't resist adding to that classic SNES lineup though.
I just hopped on the project's discord, and suggested they pass it off to another team since they ain't doing shit with it.

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
