Emulation GCN rumble not working on gamecube controller on wii u

so i was able to get my third party game cube adapter working on my wii u with nintendon't using the WiiU Gamecube controller adapter, Nintendon't, & Injects. tread from punkjah007 posted on Jul 18, 2023 (sorry my account is new so i can't post links). but for some reason rumble will not work, does this have to do with the adapter because i used it on my pc and rumble works fine on dolphin and it's even supported for steams games or does this have to do with the controller file i downloaded from github from the tread for third party gamecube adapters i renamed to 0079_1846.ini then used on wii u to get it working on it

Make sure you have both USB ports plugged in. Black is for controller power and data, gray is for controller rumble power.

If you're using a USB hub, try a different one that is powered separately from the WiiU

they are both plugged in the back and it still won't work, i even tried swapping them around in the back of the console and still no rumble

Are you using an official adapter, the Mayflash, or another generic/3rd-party? If you're using Mayflash, are you in WiiU/Switch mode or PC mode?

What kind of controller are you using? Official, Smash, old (<2012) 3rd party, or new 3rd party?

a generic/3rd party adapter and am using a official black gamecube controller dol-003 not a smash one

also i forgot to add to the post that am using pc mode since the drivers am using for the adapter for wii u don't support wii u/switch mode

also some people in the post were saying to turn on rumble on nintendon't i went there and all the settings are only for wii mote only am missing something like is there settings thing on nintendon't for gamecube controllers

Are you leaving it in PC mode when using it with Nintendon't? If so, that's likely your issue. Switch to WiiU/Switch mode and reboot your console and you should be good to go.

wiiu/switch mode only works on my pc for some reason after installing drivers for my pc so it can work on dolphin and steam

i checked nintendon't and went to game details for paper mario the thousand year door and it's says gcn_md5.txt not found does this have to do with rumble not working or it doesn't matter

According to this thread on the Nintendont Github, there are some versions of Nintendont that have issues with GC WiiU adapters. I've also heard about some 3rd party adapters being problematic as well. I'd try the suggested version from this thread and, if that doesn't work, maybe a couple other random versions to see if you can get it working in WiiU/Switch mode:

The adapter I purchased also only works when switched to PC mode interestingly enough. Or well it didn't work at all until I replaced the controller config with one from the nintendont github.

Let me know if you have any luck I kinda just gave up and figured its the life of being stuck with 3rd party adapters now

adapter probably needs to perfectly emulate the official one to work in switch/wiiu mode. if they don't work in nintendont, I question whether they even work for super smash bros in retail mode at all... it's possible those adapters advertise wiiu/switch compatibility while not actually providing compatibility.

I have the mayflash one in Wii U mode, I use usb loader gx and in loader settings, under Nintendont, I put USB-HID controller to OFF, and Native Controller to ON. I dont know if you can select the same settings in nintendont directly but it's worth checking, if you'd rather not use usb loader gx.

apparently native controller ON is supposed to only work on original wii with physical gamecube ports, but idk, it works for me on wii u with the adapter. what it's supposed to do through is that it skips Nintendont processing the input , instead your controller sends the input directly to the game. so if there's an issue with nintendont processing the input, maybe native controller could fix it.

latest nintendont also, that setup is supposed to work as long as your adapter actually properly emulates the official one.

tbh if you can, I would download smash 4, and see if your adapter works in wiiu mode in smash 4. if it works in smash, then it's a nintendont problem. if it doesnt work in smash, then you know now the adapter is the problem and you dont have to waste your time trying to get nintendont to recognize it.
