RUMOR- 3DS Remake of a "7th Game" From Famous RPG Series

Take note that this remains a rumor, it is unconfirmed and may very well not be true. Gaming sites are reporting a possibility of a mysterious remake of a game from a very famous Japanese RPG series. The game is said to be coming to the Nintendo 3DS and is the "7th" title in said famous series (which again is unamed). The best theories however point towards the remake being either of Final Fantasy VII or Dragon Quest VII. Final Fantasy VII is highly requested among fans to get a remake. Square Enix used it as a tech demo for the PS3 and fans had thought that may eventually lead to a remake. That's on a Sony system however. If it's one of these two series', Dragon Quest VII is the more plausible one. The entire series has been very Nintendo-centric lately. With remakes of IV, V, and VI recently on the DS, as well as the original Dragon Quest IX for DS and the upcoming Dragon Quest X on Wii. It would makes sense that they may wish to continue remaking the series on the newest Nintendo handheld as they had for the previous ones.

As i stated though, take this rather vague rumor with a grain of salt (or maybe an entire spoonful). Until formally confirmed or revealed, it's just speculation. However, the info leak came from a Twitter user named Creamsugar, who I am told accurately leaked the info that Monster Hunter Tri would be receiving an updated version ported to the 3DS (prior to it being formally announced). The Twitter poster didn't name his or her source either (though they mention it's the same source that provided the Monster Hunter Tri G leak).

If it's Final Fantasy VII, I'm buying it. No questions asked. I'm playing the PS1 version on my PSP and I wouldn't care how long it would take me to get it, I'm getting it if it is.

If this rumor holds any merit what so ever, I'd prefer a Dragon Quest 7 remake. It's a great game, but unless you emulate it, it's damn rare, and expensive.

As a personal opinion, and assuming this ends up bearing some fruit, i'm seriously doubting it's going to be FF7. Sony fans would rage hard, i wouldn't even be surprised if violence broke out lol!

But yeah, DQ7 seems more logical. And that's fine by me if it happens. I love that series. FF7 i find fun and all though (neither a hater nor a member of the religious cult heh).

Hasn't there been a Dragon Quest VI remake for DS this year? They'll probably continue with 7 on 3DS.

I personally think Square-Enix will hold a FF7 remake as trump card should they every be in real deep financial troubles.

I agree altho they shouldnt wait too long coz its close to being dated now, i know its a great game but its been 14 years since it got released and most people i know born in the mid 90's have not played it or think FFX to be the best in the series mostly due to the graphical updates.

I still hope it is FF7 tho.
