This is starting to get silly... ee28d0be718055423ee79d89889ebe386e5b0c2d
hell, if we manage to at least get the Wifi key that the Gamepad uses? I honestly would stop using the Wii U alltogether and start using it as a display for an android device.

So may be the first exploit will be something like with the PS3 where you need to buy a dongle to get it to work.Courtesy of sven: http://twitpic.com/bjklgk
Hmm, giving wii u a pseudo storage device over usb to hack. Interesting.
This is ftdi - serial to usb converter mostly used to get debug console. Also "The GoodFET is an open-source JTAG adapter".So may be the first exploit will be something like with the PS3 where you need to buy a dongle to get it to work.

I'm wondering if it is related:Console to what?
Actually I am not familiar with the hardware setup here. But one can analyze how wii u uses the usb storage devices by implementing a pseudo storage device. Testing numerous things like reporting weird storage sizes, reporting bad sectors and so on...
What you suggest seems to be a quest for a magic dongle or search for a bug in how wii u handles usb connection in general.
I'm wondering if it is related:

11 days until...Christmas? Not sure what that has to do with fail0verflow or the WiiU, but that's what is happening in 11 days...Fail0verflow will have a table at 29C3. It seems incredibly likely that they will announce what they've got then. 11 days, guys.
i think the "drunk" comment is referring to being able to run homebrew on the device (homebrew == beer, device == drunk)The Wii U is also a device, it could just be referring to how the console could get "drunk" in a similar way to a human. Maybe they splashed a little alcohol over the circuitry and the Wii U puked up that hash. Or maybe they mean in a similarly to how a drink is drunk, but that might take a while with an ordinary household blender.
Of course, now I feel like an idiot. I don't drink much, let alone home brewed stuff. But I do live just down the road from a shop that sells home brewing equipment, so there's just no excuse for my ignorance!i think the "drunk" comment is referring to being able to run homebrew on the device (homebrew == beer, device == drunk)
