My setup was pretty good when I bought it (which was early 2011). Nowadays it's still enough to play games like Fallout 4 but far from high-end. I might buy a new one when Shenmue III has been released.

- Intel Quadcore i7-2600K Box, LGA1155 (4x 3.400 MHz)
- ASUS P8P67 Rev 3.0, Sockel 1155, ATX, DDR3 (B3 Revision)
- 8GB-Kit A-Data Value PC3-1333 CL9
- Xigmatek Midgard, ATX, without power supply, black
- be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER CM BQT E8-CM-580W
- WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 3 6Gb/s
- LG GH22NS50 bare black
- Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B, CPU-fan, for any socket
- Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
- 1280MB Gainward GeForce GTX570 Phantom GDDR5 PCI

What classes as a "sad" PC these days? a PC that won't play new games? or anything before for Core I series?

You need some definition otherwise people will just post anything.

I'd say my PC was still pretty good for something I built in 2011 (Core i5 2500k), its only let down by the ancient Sapphire HD 6870 1GB GPU. I've not upgraded it as i don't really play any new PC games.

My PC has a dead CPU and no hard drive.... planning to build a new machine when im caught up but im not sitting well right now as my room mate has been out of work and ive been payong everything myself. Luckily he went back to work recently so that shoukd change soon and ill be able to buy something worth gaming on beside a ps4 on 4.55... (might even buy a PS4 pro on 4.55 and update my original PS4 but thats not as important as buying a new PC setup.)

You have a point.

I'm not OP but if you ask me, anything less powerful than a Core2Quad Q6600/Phenom II X4 805 could be considered sad specs, mostly because these two can still somewhat be used nowadays (you can even do some *very* light gaming on them, especially if overclocked - not that I'd recommend them to anyone of course but it's still impressive for a 10+ y/o CPU) but anything weaker would make even general purpose tasks look like a chore. Not to mention that you can find them for ridiculosly low prices on eBay (it's not uncommond to find them for sale at 15 euros with shipping) so if your PC's CPU is weaker than that then you should definitely consider upgrading it at this point - unless you have a valid reason not to, of course.

I'm still quite proud of my PC, even if my GPU is cutting it fine for modern games now.

CPU: i5-4690 @ 3.5GHz
GPU: GTX 960 2GB
RAM: 12GB DDR3
1TB SSHD
Windows 8.1 Pro

Honestly, never understood the hate for Windows 8.1, it's been totally serviceable for me. Very lightweight and you get used to Metro.

You just sound like someone that picked the most expensive components you could find and then put it together in a list, picture of said build or it's fake.

celeron n2840, 4gb ram, integrated graphics, 16gb of storage (only 8 of which i can use), and a 1366x768 display.
I can only use half of the storage (not even half) because I installed Linux on the internal drive. (I used to have a little 64 GB USB, but it died.)
