Apple Should I sell my iPhone 4 and go for 4S?

It's just for the phone value. Should I sell it?

I would wait. I mean, in a week you're just going to ask if you should sell your iPhone 4S for an iPhone 4T or whatever ridiculous name they're calling it instead of just naming the damn thing the iPhone 5.

As of now, 6 yes 11 no.

No. There is no reason. Siri is shit (for now) and besides you can get here with jailbreaks. The better camera is just a little better of a camera, nothing to write home about. I can see wanting a full GB of RAM, but its honestly not worth it right now. Just be patient.
Personally I'm using Spire with some green server right now. Third party servers just aren't as stable and accurate as the original Siri (of course there's this chance of getting f- ed by Apple if you use 4S keys).

I tried the 4S camera before. It was pretty good, but I can live with the decent-enough 4 camera.

I am not swapping phones for the sake of speed/Siri/camera. As stated in the OP, I'm doing it to retain value so that when the 5 hits I won't need to pay that much (< $300). But you do make a point, there's not much features on the 4S which are significantly appealing that the 4 doesn't have.

FYI - the 4/4S have the same amount of RAM.

Jailbroken you could get $500. With a 32GB model. People are stupid.
Don't get it...

I did some calculations... I need to top up another $350 for a 4S 16GB. Not that hefty anymore.

I'll at most get a new headset, new battery, warranty with the new phone. (My 4's headset is pretty much spoiled and the battery doesn't last half a day under heavy usage)

OKAY. I'm so sorry to bring up this old topic again. :P

It appears that M1 (my carrier) is informing me that my contract is ending soon. I can get an iPhone 4S from them at just $505 (16GB). I can still sell it for about $450 - 480 for the full set to retailers or trade it in to M1 for $250 for just the mobile and charger.

Prob now is... SHOULD I GO FOR IT? Consider the value thing again, because it's still there. When the 5 gets announced maybe I can sell my phone at a high price so that I only need to pay max $200 - $300 for it.

Thanks again. :P

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
