I heard the Wii version of Episode 1 used synthesized instruments for the soundtrack, which made the file size much smaller. Basically midi. But apparently the other versions are not midi but streaming sound samples, which take up a lot more space.

Still, if Sega wanted to release the game on Wii badly enough, they could easily do the same to Episode 2's music for the Wii version. Unless there's something else inflating the file size besides the music. I'm going to assume there's another reason entirely, perhaps visual. They mention a new graphics engine is being implemented. I'll hold out on making assumptions until i see it in action and hear what it sounds like.

They could at least release it for 3DS and Wii U though. 3DS doesn't have the same sort of data limitations as the Wii. We've seen games on the eshop around 200MB in size.

I hate the way wiiware and savegames bloat ur Nand. With all the wiiware titles out you absolutely need emulated Nand on the wii imo.

But i don't care if its on the wii or not, its another Sonic game so im getting it :P

Sonic has been doing great lately so im sure ill have fun with this one as well.

Well, there's always that SD slot on the front of the Wii...then again, it's probably loaded with all the retro roms, and other wiiware/virtual console data/Riivolution files. And likely your porn stash for some reason
But yeah, Generations continues the broken curse cycle, which may end up benefiting Ep 2. Although, I'd rather they just merge them into one game, over releasing yearly installments(go back and FIX Ep 1 using the data gathered from the last two games that did well)

Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

But now it's "can I use my VR set with my racing games, that would be neat?" "ONLY IF YOU USE OUR DILDOSTICK CONTROLLERS AND RUN THE GAME ON OUR ANDROID-UNDERPOWERED BRICK"

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs

If we're talking AAA titles a vr headset would be priced at nearly the same cost as a midrange gaming pc maybe even double

    How so?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I liked the Ouya as a concept the implementation left much to be desired

Pi kind of did it right
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ouya did set the standard for android media consoles so I can give them that

  • Veho @ Veho:
The Ouya kind of hinged on their game shop and the idea of mandatory free demos and shit. When that failed, the console flopped with it.
