Square Enix Recruiting Staff For A New Studio

Ah, Square-Enix. Recently, all you've been doing is making me cry lately. You take almost three years to port Final Fantasy X to PS3 and Vita, refusal to localize any Dragon Quest games outside of mobile titles, and the Type-0 fiasco. But even after all of that, I still look forward to whatever the company releases next (maybe?) and when it comes to their RPG output, I'm listening. So what does Square have planned for the future? Opening up a new RPG studio, of course!

Square Enix are currently looking to recruit staff who will be part of the core members for a new studio that will focus on RPGs for consoles. Inside Games shares more details about the recruitment page that was recently put up by Square Enix.

According to the report, Square Enix are gathering the best people to put together a team of core members that will be in charge of developing a new RPG title for consoles.

At the moment, Square are looking for directors [battle and event], planners [lead and battle], programmers and lead programmers, marketing directors, and various designers ranging from technical artists to menu designers.

So it should be about 2 years before we see anything worthwhile. I don't know. I guess I will always be waiting for their next RPG game and that one other game that has been in development since 2006. What games does the 'Temp expect?

This could turn out to be interesting. I've always been a fan of their RPGs, it sounds like this will mean more focus on RPGs and I'm all for that.

Looks like they aren't hiring corridor designers so there's a chance it will be better than that abomination that was XIII.

TBH FF15 looked bad with all that blinking back and forth. It's like the took the corridor design split it into platforms and said: "Here jump through the level. it's totally not as linear as FF13/10 was right?"
I don't really get why people are so exited over that game, especially since it's in the modern fantasy setting. After testing FF14 I think that SE should go back to their usual fantasy setting.

more games like bravely default, please? i enjoyed this game really and maybe, just maybe, square enix can also still make games like these without help of silicon studio.. but i´m not so sure about that...

last good game from square was final fantasy x (and xi but that´s a different topic) for me, but my favorite game still is ix o/

The localizers behind Fire Emblem Awakening said they have an interest in taking on the title (and then explained that NoA shot down localization plans in favor of Bravely Default, the better investment of the two). I'd definitely prefer they not handle it, but then again, Squeeeeeenix localizers love to throw in horrid puns and accents for the sake of flavor, so they might equal out in the end.

Bravely default was definitely not the better investment of the two. I quit playing it when reaching the annoying "repeat the same sh*t again because of parallel universe" thing.
Squenix had one f*cking job and if not for that BS Bravely default would be perfect.
