would anyone know how to use an eMMC backup from a different console? i have a console with a dead eMMC and no backup, but i do have otp from both consoles.
What do you mean by dead eMMC? Bricked?
And it isn't possible yet, but maybe at some point, there are still few tools under (slow) development

try to use a USB 2.0 card reader.

I went through 5 different USB 3.0 card readers and none of them worked. Only older USB 2.0 readers worked for me.
Also make sure your cable length is less than 30 CM (1 ft)

good luck.

might have to use power shell to get a physical disk location, but I'm not sure. you mean one of the internal flash chips, right? like the slc or mlc?

Before doing anything with Disk Imager, you should first try and make sure the reader is actually detecting the mlc chip..

Start, Run , type diskmgmt.msc
In the Disk Management window, do you see a 29.7 GB unformatted / unallocated partition ( it will appear black ) ?

If yes, then continue experimenting with Win32 Disk Imager ..
If NO , then go back and troubleshoot card reader, soldering , etc.. If you don't see the 29.7 gb partition , then all you're accessing is the the reader itself with no detectable chip connected. (also make sure your R26 CLK trace cut was done)

If you're confident of your solder job and trace cut , here's how it should work

1. R26 (if using a jumper, should be be set to CLK of SD card)
2. Connect the sd card to the Reader, and insert the reader to the PC
3. Power up the WiiU ( blue light should come on , but nothing will appear on the gamepad )
4. Windows should automatically pop up saying you've inserted an unformatted drive (DO NOT FORMAT, just cancel)
5. Then Proceed to either read the MLC or write back if you have an existing backup from your own console. Note you may need to run Win32 Disk Imager as Administrator

point befor the cut or after the cut... Coz i soldering point same pic and the point that call jumper is clk also???? Meaning soldring jumper to clk on sd card adapter.

Hello, everybody
Is it possible to write back mlc.bin with this method?
Yes - so long as the mlc.bin is from your own system from a previous backup you've taken.

Also, if you do attempt to restore it, make sure that the mlc.bin backup matches your current system verion.

Here's what I mean ..

Let's say you have a backup from a year ago and at the time of the backup you were on System version 5.5.5
Now let's say you've updated your system recently to version 5.5.6 ... If you try to restore mlc.bin from system version 5.5.5 you will soft brick your system (on launch, you will get "Error code 160-0103" ).. the reason why this happens is because your SLC.bin file is on 5.5.6 but your mlc.bin would be on 5.5.5 after the restore ...

If you find yourself in this situation (old backup only), you will need to do an slc.bin & mlc.bin restore to force the system back to a common system version for both. (restoring slc.bin is much more difficult and can't be done with the method described in this forum)

This is why it's important that people take fresh/new backups of mlc.bin & slc.bin after a new system update.

Hopefully what I said above makes sense ..
