First of all congratulations for getting a slim with a low firmware! I am curious how much you paid for it? When I was in india I was surprised how expensive most electronics were there.Hi, so looking at this thread and a few others on reddit, I decided to purchase a PS4 Slim 4.05 or lower. So I went to the Sony Center in my country, they had the CoD WW2 Bundle(confirmed >4.05) & Horizon+Drive Club+R&C+ 3 Months PS+ (this was varying case to case as mentioned by the OP), the IMPORT date on the bundle was Sep 17 and I didnt want to take a gamble. So the unbundled consoles had the PSVR & HDR logo on the box as well. So I decided to checkout another shop(not Sony Center) which sold consoles, luckily I found an OG "fat" PS4 in mint condition, but I started looking into slims most of them had the import date of Q2 2017, but I spotted a console with a Jan 16 import date and since 4.05 was released in Oct 16, I was sure that this would be less than 4.05. As it turns out it had shipped with 4.01. This console was not a part of the bundle(it did not have the PSVR & HDR logo on the box) and I live in India. I suggest people who are purchasing the consoles offline to look at the import date(if possible) and take anything imported before Oct 16.
I saw 2 bundles today, the ps4 slim with 2 modern warfares with releasedate 27th of december 2016.
And the Mafia 3 bundle with a slim, it was released 6 october 2016.
Someone said earlier in this thread, 4.06 was released 21 of october 2016.
So I liked the Modern warfare games a bit more, but considering the 4.06 firmware was released 21 october, I took no risk and bought the mafia bundle. And it comes with 3.55
The slim was released in september 2016. So I think the slim mafia bundle has a nice safe release month between the slim release date and the october 4.06 release date.
Maybe nice info if your'e considering a slim above a fat.
But offcourse the modern warfare bundle also could have lower firmware with a bit of risk.
It costed me INR 28,000/- which translates to $440, this is for the 500GB Slim unbundled.First of all congratulations for getting a slim with a low firmware! I am curious how much you paid for it? When I was in india I was surprised how expensive most electronics were there.
You are very lucky to have these stickers with the manufacturing dates on them!
In Germany we DO NOT have any indication of the Date on the outside of the Box. Since these are labeled EU I am guessing this is valid for the whole of Europe so there is really no other way than to buy the bundles or take a wild guess.
All the boxes with HDR and PSVR Logos definitely have a higher firmware than 4.05. But that doesnt mean that boxes without those stickers wont have a higher firmware.
I live in a big city where the stocks are depleted relatively fast and its hard to find any console that has been sitting in stock for a year.
Walmart,Target and Amazon (main store) are the worst places to get old ver all these stores sell out their shipment faster than any other vendersHello guys,
Just wanted to update you.
I bought 3 PS4 Pros with the older box (Horizon Zero Dawn Coming 2017). 2 from Target and 1 from Walmart. I opened them and they were all manufactured on July 2017 (Bad). Returned them all and ended up finding a Call off Duty Infinite Warfare bundle... 4.01. Jackpot. Maybe people will have better luck finding a pro with <4.05 firmware, but I had no luck. I did get a lot of helpful associates though.

where did you find the COD bundle ?
hi guys, do you know if there is a reliable way to get a ps4 pro with a firmware below 4.06 ?
thanx in advance for your help
thanx for your answer, but how can i know if it's the launch ps4 pro, it seems here in europe , manufacturing date are only located on the console itself as date code , right ?Unfortunately there isn’t a known way yet. You’ll have to find a launch PS4 pro.

That's correct. There's no definitive way of finding out the manufacturing date without unboxing the console. As far as we are aware this is the case in any part of the world.
ok, so the only way is to buy a used one from a guy who can tells the firmware version , that will be pretty hard to find (i mean to find a reliable seller)That's correct. well , let's the hunt begin so
i'm on holiday this week, so i will go to my local pawn store to look for one,I’m going out to GameStop to look at used PS4 pros. Since they’re already opened and I can say that I want to test them or something similar, I can look at the firmware. Hopefully someone traded it in soon after purchasing the pro. Possibly pawn shops are a good place to look as well.
